Wife would kill me
For the record, i should not posting this. But, i need some input.
My wife wants a baby...
AHHHHHH!!!!!!
Anybody here who knows me knows i am only 22, yet i have a nine-year-old adopted son with mental issues (that's for another time, but i do not think they are mental issues, only frustations that will flush out with enough love)
But my wife wants a little bryan Jr. (my name is bryan, sorry). I'm relatively ready, mentally, but i'm not sure about financially. My wife says we're fine, and i guess we are. But i'm not sure. Maybe i'm just making excuses....but i hate diapers. I hate drool. Okay, i don't hate them but there icky.
Please pray to give me some understanding and any advice would be mucho apreciated.
For the record, i do want a baby. I lvoe those little carriers that you strap to your chest to hold him (oh year, he's gonna be a boy). And i think i'd make a good daddy (i had a great one). And i'm sure i can handle it. But...you know....
AHHHHHHH!!!!!
My wife bought me a book titled "My wife is having a baby and i am having a breakdown" (or something like that). Haven't read it yet. We'll see.

Re: Wife would kill me
Dude Financially you will never be ready LOL. HOWEVER just do it man! It is such a great experience and you would be surprised where the finances come from! My little gaffer is 2 years old now and is just amazing! The joy that comes when you are in the Delivery room holding your new Baby boy/girl is amazing! I cannot describe it!Enigma7457 wrote:For the record, i should not posting this. But, i need some input.

My best advice stop worrying about it and enjoy the er... Fun .
Some good Advice from the Bible
Psa 127:3 Lo, children are a heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Psa 127:4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
Psa 127:5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

I may be single, but I have 11 nieces and nephews!
Obviously, pray, pray, pray! Especially with each other...
But on the prosaic side....just to help you with the questions you have
Babysit for somebody you know or volunteer for the nursery at church....many, many times
Talk to other men (and women!) at church you respect, ask for their advice.
Talk to a financial advisor, maybe a church friend who can help you establish some sound financial planning...Either decision this is wise, as you do want kids someday...
God is faithful and will bless you but you should always be faithful with what blessings He provides.
ON to writing sub plans, oh the blessings of substitutes

SOunds like you really want to and just want to alleviate some fears.
Also sounds like you would be great for the job
Differentiate between worry and fear ("Trust in the Lord") but also honest concern.
CAn't help you with the diapers, although from the sounds of things, the Diaper Genie is a marvelous invention.
Don't worry....you have nine months to get ready, right?

Ya know that was my worst Fear! Financially can we do it?? I finally just faced up to it. We just went ahead and did it and really never looked back! It is quite suprising how little the Diapers, Baby Food, etc take out of your budget. Then you just compensate by getting less food for yourself or buy more food and prepare your own food for the Baby. (you will need a food Blender )Enigma7457 wrote:You have no idea what the above phrase means to me. Thank you very much.Dude Financially you will never be ready LOL. HOWEVER just do it man!

Enigma, it is surprising how different the experience is when it is your own baby whose diapers you are changing. I have been poo-ed and pee-ed and sicked up on, and it wasn't nearly so bad with my own baby than with OPKs (OPK = other people's kids). Don't forget how much you are going to love that little one... and love has you doing all kinds of things you never thought possible (and not minding at all).

I'm with you, dude, that would be my worst fear. I have a weak stomach. I even have a hard time eating in the presence of a baby that is eating. I hate seeing anybody elses bodily fluids. However I am the worst person to take advice from since I am single and childless.Enigma7457 wrote:It isn't the cost of the diapers i am worried about, just the conents. I saw my godson get diarrhea all over my wife and i almost threw up (i had to run away quickly). She just shrugged and took him to the bath tub.
Sorry. I'll pray for you.
