Great Song
I bought a CD called three wooden crosses. It's a compilation of inspirational country music songs. On it is a song by Sawyer Brown called They Don't Understand. It is a great song. I got goosebumps.

Re: Great Song
This is my favorite Country Song
John Michael Montgomery "The Little Girl"
Her parents never took the young girl to church
Never spoke of His name
Never read her His word
Two non-believers walking lost in this world
Took their baby with them
What a sad little girl
Her daddy drank all day and mommy did drugs
Never wanted to play
Or give kisses and hugs
She'd watch the TV and sit there on the couch
While her mom fell asleep
And her daddy went out
And the drinking and the fighting
just got worse every night
Behind their couch she'd be hiding
Oh what a sad little life
And like it always does, the bad just got worse
With every slap and every curse
Until her daddy in a drunk rage one night
Used a gun on her mom and then took his life
And some people from the city took the girl far away
To a new mom and a new dad
kisses and hugs everyday
Her first day of Sunday school the teacher walked in
And a small little girl
Stared at a picture of Him
She said I know that man up there on that cross
I don't know His name
But I know He got off
Cause He was there in my old house
and held me close to His side
As I hid there behind our couch
The night that my parents died

Wow! I gotta listen for that one. It sounds great. I almost shed a tear at the end there.

Re: Great Song
I used to loathe country music, until I discovered a group called The Lost Dogs. If you get a chance, listen to their album Nazarene Crying Towel, espesh the song Crushing Hand
Thy will move me
Thy will use me
You lay your crushing hand
Your mighty hand
On me gently
You know my name
Wound me
You know my frame
Heal me
You lay your crushing hand
Your mighty hand
On me gently
Do what you must and save me
I'm in the dust now raise me
Lord I believe
Help my unbelief
Go gently
Holy God, break me
Holy Lord now take me
Lay your crushing hand
Your mighty hand
On me gently
Your crushing hand,
Your mighty hand
On me gently
Just acoustic guitar and harmonica...almost perfect.

Re: Great Song
Country is really good! Not that I don't listen to any other music but for the most part it is Country. Country has Soul! I look at the likes of Alan Jackson for example. Re-Committed Christian! Faith Hill and Tim Mcgraw have amazing songs and you can see their Spirituality in the Songs. Alberta born Paul Brandt another great Country Singer and Christian. Sarah Evans another Christian with great Songs. Randy Travis...etc etcEnigma7457 wrote:It's nice to finally meet another country music fan. I thought i was all alone.bizzt wrote:Jason Michael Carrol. Did I say I like Country.
I still like my Rock and Rappish Rock songs though Toby Mac for one (love his music)

Never heard of Toby Mac.
I love country, too. It's more real to me. Also like classic rock, like aerosmith and bon jovi. Aerosmith's Amazing is a great song, too.

Re: Great Song
Yes, that is a great song. Just saw them in concert last month (Jones Beach). Steven Tyler was incredible, he gets better and better with age. Joan Jett (and the Blackhearts) opened for them; she was good too. I also like John Fogerty a lot (born on the bayou, one of my favorite songs of his). Tried to get tickets for the November concert in NYC but alas, standing room only left (didn't relish the thought of standing for 2 hours straight).Enigma7457 wrote:Aerosmith's Amazing is a great song, too.
Let us proclaim the mystery of our faith: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.
Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

Re: Great Song
Unfortunately, most of the modern rock and roll songs aren't...savory (best word i could think of).
Creed is a good recent rock band. I love the song Bullets (kind of a weird song, but i think it has a lot of meaning behind the words)

Toby Mac used to be one of the lead singers for DC Talk... Burn for you, and Phenomenon are my favorite!!!Enigma7457 wrote:Never heard of Toby Mac.

Ahh the old bands... Bon Jovi just rolled through town in Calgary. Kiss also came through recently too.
