News - Sad Time
I have not been able to be online for a time. Below is an email I sent out to others about this past week:
My father passed away yesterday. He suffered from the full range and symptoms of Alzheimer's for 12 years. he was a Christian and good man. I'll miss him.
It has been a rough past several days. My father's condition became worse. Week ago Saturday and he stopped all intake of food and water. I went home last Tuesday. Early on the morning 12/22/2007 at 420am, my father went home to be with the Lord. For the past several days it was really rough. His breathing growing weaker along with apnea.
I spent most of night before and evening playing songs, a few hymns and simple chord progressions, for my dad on a borrowed guitar loaned from the care center music room. Other friends and care givers came by and visited and prayers given. At around 130am my mother and I prayed that he could go in peace and not in the distress he was in. This may sound strange, but I felt a presence of an angel in the room, just waiting.
Then around 2 am, the terrible apnea stopped and he began to breath easily again, something he had not been able to do for the past seven days. He past away peacefully at 420am. My mother and I were there when the Lord took him. He was resting peaceful, without pain, and his breathing easier than it had been the last 7 days. This will be a sad Christmas for my family but also a relief. Funeral services will be after Christmas - Thursday. Though we are sad, we also have hope and know fully where my father is now.
When my father passed away. We could feel his spirit/soul leave and it felt as though he was in the room for a few minutes. This is common experience reported by hospice workers as well as people who witness the death of a loved one - how the soul/spirit leaves the body. You feel it. I witness this with the passing of my wife's father in 9/2005 as well as did all the others that were in the room at that moment felt this too. Now my own father. I know where he is and he is with the Lord now. Jesus Christ is the author of eternal life for them that believe. Eternal life begins the moment you believe and continues forever. There is no soul sleep or eternal life is not eternal. Think on it for a while.
Though I am sad as well as my family, we can celebrate as Christians knowing we will see my father again.
Please pray for my family during this time and...
God Bless!

I'm so sorry, B.W. I know your Father is with Jesus and at perfect peace, I just pray that God puts His hand of peace and comfort on you and your family.

My prayers are with you
Definition of a Veteran. A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including his life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

Re: News - Sad Time
I can imagine this must be a hard time for you B.W. Losing someone in Christmas day (or on other day) is not easy. My prayers are with you... The thing that gives hope is as you said - that he is with the Lord now. Maybe his death being rather calm as you described it is something significant... many people die in worries about their future, what is going to happen, and are very reluctant to leave this world...
No need to rush for the post on the other thread... . Anyay, my prayers be with you & your family. God bless.
