There must have not been any viruses in 'god-given' DNA originally.
That just doesn't make sense.
If god wanted to help his creations against certain diseases which he himself created, he'd just add some new genes, not insert a virus.

Re: Fossil Record- Interesting points
This is about more than just creation. This is about creation then the "fall” bad things started to happen after Adam and Eve decided to use their free will to disobey God (all this is Christian belief). Many things do not make sense to our puny human understanding. It all plays in to the scheme of things. As a Christian, we also need "FAITH" some things we do not understand we should pray for guidance from our Father. We should seek answers, we have been created in Gods image that means things like we can create, we can reason, we can think, we can love. The fall happened then other things came in to being such as hate, disease, illness, and also viruses that cause illness to us, whatever is not God like.
If you are a Christian, (and it is not my place to say you are a liar), you should pray about this, read scripture and have God guide you to an answer.
I hope you get you answers and grow in Christ.

Definition of a Veteran. A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including his life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

FL, I don't think he is saying he doesn't believe in creation? Surely you can believe that life emerged gradually via evolution and still believe in God? I am studying evolution at the minute as I have the same 'doubts' about creation without evolution. All the evidence seems to suggest that the planet earth was formed using lots of 'chaos' for want of a better word, hence all the millions of years of it changing, going through ice ages etc, so life had to adapt as well. This doesn't seem to fit with the Genesis account where we imagine God creates a habitable earth and then all the life forms, complete as they are over periods of time. I'm very confused at the minute.

In that case I would like Modulus to explain how he unites Christianity and evolution?Cross.eyed wrote:catherine, check Modulus' profile, He claims Christianity, but doesn't believe in creation.

It is possible to be a Christian and find evolution credible. Kurieuo has offered an example here: a progressive creation account.
Modulus' incoherence is in claiming to be a Christian not believing in Creation.

FL, I'm fully aware of how you can be a Christian and accept evolution as the way God formed life. What I would like clarification on is what kind of 'creation' Modulus does not accept? It seems he accepts evolution and Christ, so is he saying the Genesis account does not allow for evolution? Maybe he doesn't accept the literal 7 day 7000 years or so, 'creation' in which case I would agree with him. There seemed to be the suspicion from others that Modulus is not really a Christian, and I'm keen for Modulus to clarify his position.
