Question about the Big Bang theory (secular versions)...

Post by derrick09 »

Hello again,

I was wanting to ask you all a question regarding the Singularity of the Big Bang theory of the universe. One of the top things I'm wanting to know is what is the most popular or recent "secular" or atheist versions of the Big Bang theory and what are the responses from Creationists? Some ideas that I've heard thrown around thus far are as follows, the Big Bang came about literally from nothing by nothing (which is absurd from the start), it came as a product from previous universes (multiverse theory that is also absurd in the sense there is no evidence and it begs the question of what produced the first universe out of the multiverse or what originally caused the "universe making factory to exist in the first place),The Stephen Hawking imaginary time theory( which doesn't apply to real life problems ), the Big Bang is an oscillation event (which most cosmologists now reject), or that it started via quantum fluctuations or particles. The quantum fluctuation theory to me is closer to being reasonable than the others and I believe it has several flaws in it from what I've heard. From what I've listed, are there any other popular secular alternatives to the Big Bang and if so, how can us Christian apologists answer them? Thank you all for your time. :)

God did it

The Big Bang theory was a shock to a lot of scientists as all of a sudden there was a possibility that the universe had a beginning and that was scary to a lot of atheist scientists who up to then had theories such as the steady state theory to keep them happy. The universe now has a beginning and the creationist view of it is that God brought it into being. I call my self a creationist not because I am a YEC (which I am not) but because I beleive God created the universe.
