blizzard on east coast
wow,
Snowpacalypse
Snowmageddon
Snoverdoes
those are just a couple of new terms for our blizzard out here on the east coast. Our second for the winter season. We are looking to break our previous record. I have at least 26 inches outside my house, not counting the places of drifts over 3 or 4 ft.
It's your typical noreaster!!

Re: blizzard on east coast
Most amazing blizzard I've ever seen. A mere 50 mile span is a difference between a dusting and 2 feet of snow. Central Jersey had 18 inches, New York City: nothin'. Very wild but very narrow storm. Incredible.zoegirl wrote:wow,

Let us proclaim the mystery of our faith: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.
Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

From outside my front door earlier this morning, before the storm was done.

I think I've maybe seen 2 storms worse than this in my life. The great blizzard of 1978 when I lived near Toronto and one in Pennsylvania in 1996.

That's amazing - pretty neat, too, if you don't have to drive or work in it. I wished I lived in such nice places as some of you do, though.

Re: blizzard on east coast
I live in a low-income area. It's very crowded and busy and dirty. Seeing Bart's video made me envious. I'm from Michigan where there is much natural beauty. Here, everything has been bulldozed and everything is man-made and man-planted. You can drive a ways to more natural areas, but it takes time and gas (and the roads dangerous, since they're mountainous and many drivers are in a rush), and it's usually crowded there too. I very much miss where I grew up and that environment. The only good thing about living here is the weather, and even so, with a condition I have, the hottest weather is hard for me.zoegirl wrote:wait, don't you live in California????

I'm just a mile away from the pacific ocean. In the summer is when it's cold here. Below 60 degrees at times. It's that cold ocean.cslewislover wrote: The only good thing about living here is the weather, and even so, with a condition I have, the hottest weather is hard for me.

We ended up with about 34 inches. Lots of shoveling.

Yep, I wouldn't doubt it....it certainly rivals the 2003 storm we had.
We may not get these often, but boy when we do....they're doozies!!

When we get a couple of inches over here the country bloody stops! It's as if aliens had landed and the news media has palpatations. Do you like the snow, Zoe?zoegirl wrote:actually it is more like 28 - 30 inches by the end of it....
