The age of the universe
Dr. Danny Faulkner (young-earth creationist astronomer) and Dr. Hugh Ross (old-earth creationist astronomer) debated before a group of agreed upon Christian professional astronomers. The group has now given their report on the question of the age of the universe.

In the "listen live" box it should read The Frank Pastore Show, when the show is on.

Re: The age of the universe
Very interesting that they are talking about the historical position on OEC and YEC in the church.. Something we have been talking about a lot here lately..
Hugh says that it's in his book "The Genesis Debate." I'm looking this up right now...

Re: The age of the universe
lisle conceded that the distances between stars and galaxies is in millions and billions of light years. Did he just say that God created the universe with those distances already in place?

Re: The age of the universe
Lisle is talking but I'm not hearing very much; he keeps talking about starting out from scripture, as though he were the only one holding true to these scriptures. This is just a total fallacy. And it is entirely typical of what I hear from Mr. Ham; claiming some higher ground. Let's hope it improves...

Yes... Just like how he created Adam fully formed.. The problem here is that God states this whereas with the universe he doesn't..RickD wrote:lisle conceded that the distances between stars and galaxies is in millions and billions of light years. Re: The age of the universe
Ross just said that astronomers can look at pictures of the universe back in time before stars and galaxies were formed. I'd like to hear more of how that's possible. That is mind boggling.

Re: The age of the universe
Lisle says that animals didn't die before Adam's sin because God loves animals. According to Lisle's creation model, God loves animals so much that He punished animals with death for something that the animals weren't guilty of.(sin)

1 hour isn't enough time to discuss this. We need more debates. Although, everything that was discussed tonight, was discussed in the Ankerberg debates.DannyM wrote:Is that it? Was anybody listening to Pastore's earlier discussion with Ron Rhodes?

Re: The age of the universe
Yes, and apparently God loved animals so much that he wanted them to multiply on the earth with no death.. Before you know it, the world would be flooded with rabbits....RickD wrote:Lisle says that animals didn't die before Adam's sin because God loves animals. Re: The age of the universe
I agree that it should have been longer... But there where some interesting points here and there. I've got the Ankerberg debates, however there where a few different points in this discussion.. About Pastore... We will keep our ears open, but hopefully dayage will give us a heads up again..DannyM wrote:Yeah, been there done that!
