The Real Reason the 10 Commandments aren't in a Courthouse
The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this: You cannot post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal,' 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery,' and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians...It creates a hostile work environment.
Dogmatism is the comfortable intellectual framework of self-righteousness. Self-righteousness is more decadent than the worst sexual sin. ~ Dan Allender

Not to mention love thy neighbor as thyself... Wouldn't want that in a courthouse.Canuckster1127 wrote:The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this: You cannot post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal,' 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery,' and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians...It creates a hostile work environment.

I don't know, with as much as they love themselves it may be good if they loved others that way too, LOL!!Gman wrote:Not to mention love thy neighbor as thyself... haha, it's funny because it's true!Canuckster1127 wrote:The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this: You cannot post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal,' 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery,' and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians...It creates a hostile work environment.
Also I don't think many cases of "Thou shalt not covet your neighbor's ox or donkey" come up to often either xD
Am I an Atheist? Not really.
Am I a Christian? I'd be lying if I said I were.
The truth is I don't consider myself to belong to any isms, ists or anities. Questions to the mysteries of life I can only say I do not know. Yet through insight I set out to cure my ignorance.

I don't think it has to do with any of the commandments, but rather the discrimination of political correctness against Christianity and those who wish to dismantle it wherever it stands.The11thDr. wrote:yep, it would not have nothing to do with the first second and fourth commandments at all.

Regarding K's comment: Below is quoted from this Link describing 45 Declared Goals however it no joke...Kurieuo wrote:I don't think it has to do with any of the commandments, but rather the discrimination of political correctness against Christianity and those who wish to dismantle it wherever it stands.The11thDr. wrote:yep, it would not have nothing to do with the first second and fourth commandments at all.
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."
29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."
31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture."
32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
