Welcome Battlehelmet. You'll find a good company of OEC's here - mostly those adhering to Day-Age.
For the poll, Do I believe in Genesis that God said what?

And I'm a young earther....a heretic, according to the founder of this forum. I'm ok with that, of course fitting into the crowd isn't my favorite thing to do anyway.

"My actions prove that God takes care of idiots."
He occasionally stumbled over the truth, but hastily picked himself up and hurried on as if nothing had happened.

An atheist can't find God for the same reason a criminal can't find a police officer.
You need to start asking out girls so that you can get used to the rejections.

Ha...I don't work well with the obvious 'cliques" at other religious forums. I'm open-minded and optimistic about what I will learn from this place.AttentionKMartShoppers wrote:You can tell he's excited

So is the majority of YEC,YBC creationists larger than the OEC crowd?

However it's not as though that the word for day, yom, is used in a non-literal sense in Genesis for the Day-Age position. There are three "literal" definitions for yom and they are sunrise to sunset (12 hours), from one sunset to the next (24 hours), or an unspecified period of time.

"Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13)
Exo 20:8 "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.Dan wrote:God uses day in the non-literal sense all the time in His Word, why would this be different?
Exo 20:9 "Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
Exo 20:10 but the seventh day is a sabbath of the LORD your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you.
Exo 20:11 "For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.
So, were the Israelites to rest on the "seventh day" for an indefinite period of time? Or was God just being unclear in His commandment?
I think He was quite clear and not confused. He rested on the seventh day, and so should they. God even blessed the day and made it holy. Did he bless one day or did he bless an indefinite period of time?

Damn, in all the time we've been here, we've never seen those verses before. You took me completely by surprise.
