Your favourite tunes!
Had to put this up, what an absolute classic; almost makes me wish my girl was American...

Re: Your favourite tunes!
This is a good example of what listen to.

However, I am very eclectic in my taste, so I do like bluegrass, oldies, some country...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdRdqp4N3Jw for some good bluegrass....(this movie clips are from "O brother where art thou" an interesting movie actually based on the Odyssey...complete with sirens and cyclops) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIKz1phnuCc
but I do like some classic rock as well...Boston, Journey, America...

Re: Your favourite tunes!
Thanks for the Goo Goo Dolls tune Danny. One of those tunes I'd completely forgotten about but love.
Kris Kristofferson, I think he may be one of the greatest song writers of all time. He's also a fantastic guitar player, he gets across so much with so little, from a technical pov.
Inspired by Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath
Here Comes That Rainbow:

A really simple song which really tugs at the heart.
For pure enthusiasm Biz Markie performing Elton John's Benny and the Jets just makes me smile everytime:

One of those people, along with Ian Dury and many others, who prove to me that you don't need to be good at signing to be a great signer.
Can we get a youtube video integrator thingy for the forum?

Yeah I have somehow never been able to forget about Iris, Pro. I think it is an amazing song.
That KK song Here Comes That Rainbow was really nice, never heard that before. Lord knows what that other one was all about... I did laugh though

yeah, he has to be one of my fav's...
You know, he was a priest (known as the red priest for his red hair) who helped run a girls orphanage and he conducted an all girls orchestra...

this has always been my all time favorite piece by him...I think it was one of the first ones I listened to and fell in love with...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oa8L2C9W ... re=related (it starts off slow and the 3rd movement starts at 3:35) the third movement is the best...DannyM wrote:Wow Zoe, Vivaldi if you please!

Re: Your favourite tunes!
I've long been a fan of Johnathan Richman but only a few months ago came across this tune. It's an oldie, I've heard a few versions over the years but nothing comes close to a young Johnathan singing it for me. Can't find it on youtube but click the play icon on the top left of this site and hopefully enjoy it even a tiny bit as much as I do.

He also wrote one, if not the one, of my favourite love songs ever, Important In Your Life:

If you've never heard of him he achieved a little fame with the song Egyptian Reggae and was the guy who kept popping up singing, occasionaly with a guitar, in There's Something About Mary
