Is it legal?
I must ask, is it legal to make viruses? Should those who make malware, spyware, and other bad computer programs be put in jail, banned for ever going online? (I know that isn't possible! LOL) What do you think? Viruses can crash entire business servers. They can ruin programs, and destroy your operating system. They can be costly, and annoying, not to mention stressful! So let me know, what do you think? What should happen to those who make viruses? That is, if we can ever catch them!

Somewhere between fine or jail time, depending on what the virus does....hit 'em where it hurts, there bank account...if it can be proven that they made it, they should pay for the damages.

Implant a chip in them that won't allow a computer to work when they touch it.
Wait, would that be considered the mark of the beast?

LOL or you could put a shock collar on them that gave them a 500 volt shock whenever they tried to use a computer! And if they tried to remove it, it should give them a jolt so bad that it stuns them for a week! LOL they won't try that again! Wait.... would that kill them in the long run?sinnerbybirth wrote:Implant a chip in them that won't allow a computer to work when they touch it.

I think it depends on how bad they want to have access to the computer.Gabrielman wrote:LOL or you could put a shock collar on them that gave them a 500 volt shock whenever they tried to use a computer! Make them stand in the high road on a busy Saturday with a sign around their collective necks which reads: I am a weird, sad individual who has nothing better to do with his time than insert viruses into other people's software. Every Saturday for about a year. If they are still undeterred then, yes, Brixton or Sing Sing for 10 years.

I think the virus creator should be fined. Either about $6,000, or $13.7 billion. The amount of the fine would depend if the victim is YEC or OEC. If the victim is a naturalist, there would be no fine because the virus wasn't created. It just happened on its own, given the right circumstances.

Instead of being incarcerated, they have to fix people's computers that are damaged from viruses, for minimum wage.

I bet you didn't know this: but there is a such thing as a positive virus, a less damaging kind that exposes the vulnerabilities so that they can be patched up.(not all Crackers/Hackers are bad people)
Sort of similar to how the old small pox vaccine worked in humans, a weaker version that produces a powerful response from the immunities when needed.

What about teaching the basics of computers to learners, for ten years, unpaid, no benefits, living back with Mum? Unless they already live with Mum, in which case Mum is held equally responsible. Am I a tyrannical conservative?cslewislover wrote:Instead of being incarcerated, they have to fix people's computers that are damaged from viruses, for minimum wage.

Re: Is it legal?
The fact that we have to worry about weaknesses in our computers is a problem to begin with. There should be no viruses, then we wouldn't have to worry about security systems and the like, or any vulnerabilities in our computers that a virus may take advantage of. Yes, I know there are good hackers, and they help law enforcement and the government, by hacking the computers of baddies, but still, we should not have to worry about being infected to begin with. Let's just say you got a very bad virus on your computer, what would you want done to said person? Make them fix it? Jail time? A hefty fine?Kristoffer wrote:I bet you didn't know this: but there is a such thing as a positive virus, a less damaging kind that exposes the vulnerabilities so that they can be patched up.(not all Crackers/Hackers are bad people)
