So how are things going for you Kristoffer? In your search for truth and the Lord, is everything alright? Do you have any more questions? I pray the best for you friend and I hope that you can find the Lord and happiness.

God Bless!

Things are going all right, there is this person trying to scare me from being a Christian though because he thinks i am "not good enough". Apparently I have to take the bible literally, use it as the source of my morality and have a full submersion baptism. I could make something really bad happen to this person if I wanted to, but I don't really.

Oh yea and I have been going to the church in my village occasionally for the services.(its not that bad really!)

That is awesome Kristoffer. Have you turned the corner and made the decision to except Christ?

Kristoffer, do not listen to that person, they do not know what they are talking about. God loves you no matter what and He will forgive you your sins. People who say others are not good enough are usually jealous of that individual or have something against them. Just give your heart to Christ and let Him lead you. Let the Holy Spirit guide you and let Him lead you in what you get out of the Word.

God Bless

I have to second this whole-heartedly. Whoever says that someone isn't "good enough" to be a Christian hasn't been reading their Bible very closely. Those sort of comments sound a whole lot more like the Pharisees than Jesus.

Also, encouraging to hear that you've been attending church occasionally.

Hi Kristoffer! I agree with Gabrielman 100%

That person is wrong... Christianity is not about being good enough for God. Or trying to follow a set of rules so you can get into heaven. Looking at it that way will make being a Christian very boring, sad, painful and almost impossible, at least for most. True Christianity and accepting Jesus is about having a real relationship with God. He simply loves his creation, more than you can imagine. I feel the endless love he has for his humans causes much of his anger when we enter heaven without knowing him. Wouldn't you hate something (sin) that was the cause of losing even one of your children, much worse Many?

Way to many unsaved and religious people misunderstand Gods motives. But God knows his creation and only wishes to keep us safe, happy and teach (it will not be instant and you will have easy times and hard times) us how to obtain true peace, joy and love (it will get AWESOME!). No different (better) than a loving parent who gives their child a command, telling them not to use drugs…EVER!!! Drugs feel good for awhile but soon you will need more to get the same feeling and then much more. Soon you are addicted, your body screams for it, you must have it. They take their toll on your body. You feel pain but you can't stop…more and more…the drugs used to make you happy but now they're medicine to soothe the insanity gripping your mind. They lied to you…just a cheap imitation of happiness…and now you're trapped as they destroy your relationships, your body, your mind, soul and even claim your life…..That is very close to the effects of sin…it not only hurts you but those you love and those who love you.

Humans believe (unless they are messed up) it is right to keep a child (their creation) from harm. But many who believe it is right, assume the creator of all things seeks to deny them what is good. Shouldn't loving parents give a child a command to stay away from drugs? Should wise parents interfere with every single discussion their child makes? Wouldn't a good parent, knowing what can kill their child and what can merely hurt them, weigh their knowledge of the child's abilities against their knowledge of the danger Involved with their child's desires and allow the child to experience tolerable hurt brought on by the child's actions, so that they may understand the love of the parent, hold no resentment, learn to avoid unnecessary pain and trust their parents word? Can a child be equal to their parent in all things? No, the child will never be equal to the parent in all things and a child's attempt to become the parent will destroy the relationship between parent and child.

God says not to sin for your benefit, he knows the effects it has on the heart and on your relationship with him. Don't look at the bible as a book of rules to get you into heaven. Use it to learn the heart and mind of God just like you know the heart and mind of others in your life. God is real and awesome…and I am 100% serious. He wants a real relationship with you. Not a lot of rituals and actions based off fear…just real love.

Being saved is about trusting the work of Christ. Who He is, what He said, and what He did. Following Christ is about building the relationship. Jesus described it as abiding. You can't have the later without the former. God's desire is that you would trust Christ, and then that you would have an abiding relationship.

Seems evident to me that you are not buying this line from this person, and showing good wisdom.
Have you turned the corner and made the decision to except Christ?
I would much rather you accept Christ than except Him.

If I see something I think I need I am not going to want it, I am going to have it.

I don't see anything wrong with "except", maybe he meant to make a "exception"
