So I'm sitting here on a Sunday afternoon watching the cooking shows that are focusing on "The best thing I have ever tasted" and planning on a good basic meatloaf dinner tonight and wondering....
What is your favorite or perhaps what are your favorite meals. Comfort food or just plain wild...something you cook, your mom (or dad) cooked, or something you love to get out at a restaurant.
And incase you're wondering at the title of the thread, obviously the topic is light but as I'm watching the shows one thing is absolutely clear....EVERYTHING tastes best with either loads of 1) butter 2) bacon or 3) garlic or all!! so...that's the NOT so light part of the title.
I will give mine later but wondering, especially those who are from different parts of the country or another country, what you positively salivate for....

I love spicy food, but not Mexican, more the Indian and Thai versions. We also have a traditional type of sausage from my birth country that is pretty unique and always welcome on my plate. But nothing makes my mouth water as much as a good old Texas steak. Or the brisket from Salt Lick BBQ in Austin.
Acts 17:24-25 (NIV)
"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. [25] And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else."

Yum, that sounds good! I haven't been able to fall in love with indian foods, although I will gladly admit my exposure is lacking, once or two times...I can't quite mix the savory taste of meat with more deserty flavors like cinnamon and nutmeg.
But a good brisket, slow-cooked!! yes!
