great sermon last week

Post by zoegirl »

I just had to comment on the sermon at one of the churches I go to. I was really heartened by their approach to the "Problem of Genesis". They are doing an apologetics series and last week was their take of Genesis. The guy who did it, you could really tell he was being very very careful in his words but he was very clear that OEC and YEC were both harmonious to scripture. He also spoke about the being in harmony with each other. I was impressed with the way they handled it.

The are quite the technology friendly church and during this series the told people to text questions they had even during the sermon since it was concerning apologetics. It was rather obvious that they had still struck a nerve during the sermon when the questions came in. Many showed that people are still confused about reconciling science and God. There is still a lot of uncertainty out there.

For myself I was rather validated because much of the presentation mirrored what I do in my teaching.

Yes we should all be united no matter what our position on creation. It is sad when we fight, especially when it has nothing to do with salvation.

That's sounds pretty interesting, Zoegirl; that's neat. Do you think there will be a video link or something to it?

Okay, lol sorry to ask, it's just that you spelled deliberately wrong, so I didn't know if you noticed, because fire fox checks that stuff. y#-o But then again I still spell lots of things wrong! (It told me I spelled it wrong too! )
