Would you like to help out in a impromptu study of what you view on the local news in your hometown regarding the incident of sex crimes, verses other news stories like robbery, parades, events, other crime type stories, etc?

The reason I bring this up is while traveling this past week to a certain City in the USA, I noticed that the local news in this city reported approximately 4 separate sex crimes per 1 report of traffic, fire, arrest, cat in the tree type reports. I won’t divulge the city. I have been there often and thought this was very odd as it appears the norm for that geographic location.

After returning home, I compared this to the local news in Denver and Northern Colorado. Local news report about 1 sex crime to about 4 normal traffic, fire, animal rescue, robbery, Bear in the back yard stories, etc. Denver has a high report of robbery and theft reports though…

So if you would like to help me gather some data – could you tell me the location of a city and how many sex crimes stories compared to other more normal local news events?

The reason for this is regards to Eph 6:12 pertaining to spiritual principalities influence on certain geographic locations.

Every City has its share of murders but if the rate is unusually high, include that too.

This is just a non-scientific test study to see if there is anything to these events or patterns.

I will try to remember to take count, but in Balt. I would say it is more murder than sex crimes. Maybe equal.

Are you looking for statistics on the crimes? or in the statistics in the reporting? Because they may be different.

I am looking a stats in news reporting first, then the city demographics on nature of crime most often reported. Then I will compare city population with type crimes to get an overall percent.

So for now, a rough estimate of local news reports on whatever prevalent crime most often reported during a news cast. If anyone would like too, they can include the crime demographics for their cities.

Denver, for example, includes townships like Parker, Aurora, etc.. so these areas would be included in news cast as would other major cities. I can go to each township and look into what is going on in them later. First is to identify unique trends in an area.

One trend in Denver involves the Denver Bronco’s – since around 2007 the team has suffered an amazing amount of player deaths: This ques me in to look at overall suicide rates in and around Denver, get a percent, and compare with other cities. It is odd that so many players have died in various ways since 2007 from shootings to suicides.

I am looking for trends and a per-capta comparison to see if one area is more effected in certain crimes / phenomena than others in order to test Eph 6:12 to see if there is a trend towards these entities possible manifestations / dominance of a geographic area.
