Hello again, this is somewhat related to this thread about the kind of faith God wants us to have a confident, reasonable almost "knowing" kind of faith (the kind I think the apostles had) or a blind emotional type faith that many run of the mill average everyday Christians have nowadays (aka the ones that are not involved in apologetics or theology)...

What I was wanting to talk about here is how this applies to the doctrine of salvation. Now we all know it's by grace through faith and not by works in the sense that works such as "giving all your money to the poor" alone, by itself, will not save you. Now regarding faith, if God expects us to have more or less, a blind or child like trusting faith (in regards to His existence and with regard to Christian Theism being the true worldview) and if people like you all and me who are thinking people who struggle with doubts from time to time regarding His existence, by us enduring (like and many of you here do) throughout our lives without our intellectual desires regarding God not being met, would our enduring faith be almost like a work in some sense? Because some of us can endure and keep trusting God even with our doubts where as, others may not be able to. And if it is, what would this do to the doctrine of salvation by grace through faith alone? It's interesting food for thought. Thanks for your time guys, God bless.

Re: Question about salvation and works....
My quick reply is that we are saved by grace and not by works of any kind yet this salvation produces persevering works. I think the book of James reflects more on this. Saving faith and works go hand in hand but these are works that are an outcome of faith and being born again.
