Cell phone vs. Bible

Post by obsolete »

I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to kids as gifts?

What if we used it when we traveled?

What if we used it in case of emergency?

This is something to make you go....hmm...where is my Bible?

You'll never have dropped calls and unlike our cell phone, we don't have to
worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.

But most important of all...you'll never have to ask Him 'Can you hear me now?'

Makes you stop and think, 'Where are my priorities?
Jesus died for ALL. End of story.

Good post obsolete I like it . It does make you think doesn't it ?

One more I thought of ; If we lose our Bible as much as our cell phones, it would be a good thing when others found it and used it !
I am the wretch the song refers to.

Actually, some cell phones now can store and read text in them... even whole books.
You might not be able to fit all of it in there, but youy could fit some of it, or just use an internet enabled one with a url to say the blue letter bible.
The reason, after all, that people don't carry bibles like cell phones is rather obvious, bibles tend to be too large. Now that cell phones or similar things can now be used as ereaders, that can change. Searchable to, bookmarks, stuff like that.

Ironically my iPhone has the entire bible on it - plus some good commentary apps.

I really enjoyed that. I love how well profound truths are carried through simple, easy to understand ideas :)

No no no! What you want is a REALLY BIG really old one. Not only can you read it but you can use it as a weight. Also the old English can be really epic. If it doesn't measure 2" b 1" and 5' thick its not big enough!

I used to take mine in my college bag, used to read it in the bus, in the canteen, in the class, anywhere I could get my hands on it. :D
