California liberal?

California liberal?
Ok, I always hear the word that California is one of the most liberal states in America. But wait a minute, California did vote yes on prop 8 that would have gave legal rights for gays to marry. Other states have been more supportive. Lastly we also destroyed an initiative that would have allowed smoking pot to be legal. So maybe the answer here is maybe your state is the more liberal one..
