Often times on this forum we discuss numerous topics from science to God to how many angels can fit on the head of a pin.. But a lot of this is head knowledge. There is nothing wrong with that but many times I think we are forgetting a central point of Christianity.. That is, embracing Christianity as a lifestyle.. Christianity IS a lifestyle. There are many do's and don'ts in it just as there is in any other lifestyle. Therefore, I believe, if you really want to judge or critique Christianity, there is more to it than just the scientific facts (which may or may not be available), but also judge it on it's central message... To me, I'm finding this to be the more important subject here...
Granted, you may or may not be impressed with a professed Christian's lifestyle.. Sometimes it will take researching the Bible yourself..
Secondly, if you want to become Christian, you will also need to morph into the Christian lifestyle..

Re: Christianity is a lifestyle
Maybe I'm picking at nits ... in fact I am, but I think lifestyle if the product of what Christianity is when we embrace Christ. Relationship with Him is the core. Lifestyle is what comes out the other end and in many instances some of the issues that Christians like to argue about between themselve, God has given us freedom to follow our own consciences. There's no "one" Christian lifestyle that encompasses all of what it is to be in relationship with Christ.
Dogmatism is the comfortable intellectual framework of self-righteousness. Self-righteousness is more decadent than the worst sexual sin. ~ Dan Allender

Re: Christianity is a lifestyle
I don't think you are picking at nits.. I think that lifestyle is or should reflect Christ or it really isn't a "Christ fulfilled" lifestyle.. I think that what get's missed many times is it not just an intellectual belief that God simply exists. There are many layers to it. It is also a lifestyle.. A new way of living. So I think another question would be, do I embrace the lifestyle as well? Or evaluate it at that level.. Instead of well..
