Hi,
I've been trolling around the site, found lots of interesting stuff to explore. The tenor of the site is inviting, so thought I should register and post a brief intro.
For starters, I'm neither Christian nor antagonist. I was attracted to the site by the science element. I'm agog about the cosmos and fascinated by physics, genetics, and many other disciplines. I'm also an amateur student of human behavior.
I grew up in a religious neutral zone which left me skeptical about religion in general -- in part because there's much I don't know. It's very difficult to understand any complex culture when looking in from the outside. For example, trying to study the Bible without that cultural context has been a major challenge; much of it seems bizarre, but “different” messes with the synapses.
The complexity of the cosmos, from biggest to smallest, including the complexity of life, is for me proof enough of a design that suggests intelligence that far exceeds human comprehension. Beyond that, I simply say “I don't know.”
Well, enough for now. Will do some more reading here, then maybe post questions or comments.
