Hopefully, this isn't a serious question. Very simple: One dies before placing their faith in Jesus, they are not saved. Is it obvious to US that someone will not inherit eternal life? Course not - we'd don't see how one's permanent response to God will play out. We can't see people's hearts and minds. All we can do (as Christians) is gauge what fruit we do or don't see
at any given moment in someone's life, to assess whether or not someone is truly saved - and even then we might be mistaken. Only God sees the heart, only God sees all future decisions to follow or reject His graciously outstretched hands. He stands at the door and knocks, but He won't break that door down. You can respond to His knocks by putting on earplugs and not looking out the window to see He's still there, but that won't mean He's not there.
Perhaps he is confused about my statement, which has nothing to do with judging an individual's salvation. It's simply a fact.

All throughout Jesus' walk with us He healed the sick.
He said it is the sick who need a physician.
As He did that He was already risen from the judgment of death.
Now, having risen yet again, how do you interpose yourselves to judge on his behalf concerning those most in need of His mercy while everything He has done is to save them even if they are sick?
In Daniel 12:2 all are raised unto the Judgment.
Christ has put an end to sin.
Man can no longer blaspheme the Holy Spirit, which is the only unforgivable sin that could warrant someone not being saved.

I have been accused falsely of that.
But the fact remains that the Creed states that Christ will come to judge the living and the dead from the right hand of the Father, yet I've met those who think they are Christ, but are not.

The thing I`m wrestling with at the moment is although I am totally convinced in my faith I don`t seem to be hearing God. I talk to Him all the time but I can`t hear Him!

Although I`m sincere in my beliefs I seem to lack the total conviction of committed Christians, is it possible that this is why I don`t seem to be having a personal relationship with God? Surely God wants us to question things?
When I chat to God I don`t say the things out loud, I`m figuring God knows what I`m thinking and He must know I`m talking to Him but maybe I need to say things out loud?
Any thoughts and guidance would be appreciated!
I've read a good allegory whose lesson was that God does reply, but you are too far away to hear Him.
I don't think it is needed to say things out loud. Just think them.

I think the...'if God feels faraway guess who has moved' quote is just a bit too simplistic.
Because to me what you're saying is really getting at the same thing
The person needs to move themselves closer, right?

I took more of a philosophical approach (as I usually do
) but concerning the "God who hides himself", I can say that it represents how we can not, nor with our mind or faith, fully comprehend God.
Btw, the allegory I read had no connection with: "Hey, I think I remember reading in the bible someone had said as much to Job so it must be true."

I like it how you know what I read had connection with, even though you didn't read it...
Anyway, I don't think I fully understand what you are talking about, but, in the end, it doesn't even matter if the man or God moved(since the goal is for them to "hear each other"). Considering God is perfect, it is usually man's fault for not being close enough to hear His answer.
What does this have to do with anything?

of course it matters who moved, one indicates a possible sin.
If God has moved then praying for God to forgive your 'sin' is not really going to help you hear God.
