RickD wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 8:09 amBiden is wrong. And you guys are just sticking your heads in the sand, and blaming Trump.
Blaming Trump? Come on, Rick.
If Biden's actions were illegal then why didn't the GOP, who controlled the House at that point, investigate them?
And if Biden was acting independently then how do you explain that the Obama Administration, the EU, and the IMF were all doing the same thing at the same time? Coincidence?
Look, it's possible that Hunter Biden benefitted from his father pressuring the Ukrainian government to fire Shokin, but if he did then either it was a coincidence
or Joe Biden somehow orchestrated a massive international conspiracy to protect his kid from an investigation (that nobody can prove ever even happened). Does the latter hypothesis make
any sense? Why would Obama structure his Ukraine policy around helping Biden's kid? Why would the EU or the IMF give a damn about the American Vice President's kid's legal issues? Since when does a VP have that kind of juice, especially when his Party has no intention of supporting him in the next presidential election cycle?
Do you know what does make sense? That Trump would try to make a backroom deal with the President of Ukraine to gain an advantage against his likely opponent in the 2020 election. And what's more, the evidence supports it.
And where am I being inconsistent? If there was evidence that Biden committed a crime then that would be one thing, but there isn't. Sometimes one side is right and the other is wrong, and when that's the case it's not appropriate to pretend otherwise in the name of consistency.
Again, you are just claiming Joe Biden lied when he admitted he extorted Ukraine on video,as it cannot be proven,he lied.Joe Biden is a liar. Meanwhile you think asking the Ukraine President to investigate Biden's son is extortion, eventhough Trump never threatened to do anything, muchless withhold military aid,if they did not, which he was accused of. In order to extort you must do what Biden claimed he did,on video.

I don’t think His Imperial Majesty is dimwitted at all. As for why his subjects like him so much despite his propensity for womanizing, vulgarity, lying and intimidation, it’s because he gives his stooges what they want. That’s how all kingpins operate.

Sounds like you're describing Bill Clinton, not Donald Trump. Were you living under a rock before Donald Trump ran for President?Because he has about a 30 year history in the public eye as an American businessman. And in them 30 years he was never caught up in any serious scandals, nor was he ever arrested. He's not a drinker and does not do drugs too.And when he was being interviewed on CNN,etc if and when he thought they were being rude or unfair, etc he would politely, thanks for the interview, get up and walk out of the interview. So he has never taken crap from the MSM.Also his political views have not changed as he has always as far back as we can go in interviews back to when Ronald Reagan was President ,he has consistantly complained about how other countries are ripping off America and getting away with it,he used to be pro-choice,but changed his mind after having a convsersation with a family member and is now pro-life.Other than that he has been the same for as far back as we can go.

I could have asked you the same thing about Hillary!
Hey, Ed, at least I'm not on whatever drugs Abel is on!
But Ed, we'll just never agree. When I asked you about Pence, you indicated you can't stand him either. Yet I well prefer him to Trump and vs. any of the Democrats running for Prez.

Donald Trump on Oprah Winfrey show in 1988 when Ronald Reagan was President. He took out front page ads in major newspapers around the country complaining about how other countries are ripping off America, and Oprah wants to talk to him about it and ask him if he is thinking of running for President.

You think Pence could stand in there and take the arrows Trump has while accomplishing more than Trump has? Pence would've folded a long time ago.Look how they took out Bush,McCain and Romney.Besides it seems like you want to keep the status-quo where Democrats dominate the Republicans politically. You really like the Democrat vs Republican lesser than two evil game and want to keep it going? How can you complain about the things liberalism has caused and yet settle for more of it? You debate atheists? Caused by liberalism. It was liberals that removed prayer and bible reading from public schools.Trump has given us far more that is conservative than even Reagan and it is because Trump has the Q team working with him and protecting him and they have a plan and all we have to do is trust the plan. But more importantly Trump has given more to the Christian church than the Republican Party has for decades.Trump is the most pro-life not only ,President we have ever experienced, but of any Republican you can name that ran on being pro-life and being a Christian. He has delivered not only with conservative Supreme Court judges but defunding planned parenthood. And ya'll wonder why they want to impeach him.

Yeah, she's the devil. She sells kids as sex slaves. She skins puppies to make coats and she doesn't even wear them. They just hang in her closet, dripping blood. Her bedroom floor is literally covered with puppy blood. I hear she bathes in it. She killed Seth Rich, did something or other with Whitewater, and betrayed Jesus to the Romans. She's the worst criminal in the history of politics. The Republicans know all that because they're had a microscope up her tailpipe for 30 years.
Curious that they've never managed to charge her with anything, though. Most curious indeed. One could be forgiven for thinking that they must be either shockingly incompetent or full of [poop].

I can't stand Pence, but there's no reason to think that he's a criminal. He's a religious zealot who lacks the courage of his convictions and I imagine that a lot of his domestic policies would mirror those of the current Administration, but I doubt he'd open himself up to blackmail by asking a foreign government to help him out in 2020. There's a difference between having a President whose policies I loathe and having a President who's a shameless criminal.
All that said, Trump might not be impeached. Even if he is it's extremely unlikely that he'll be convicted. It will almost definitely come down to an election in 2020. So are you going to vote for a guy who's literally the antithesis of all you hold dear? Again?

I actually think Trump's one of the best presidents ever for getting things done. If you tune out to all the hoo-hah and negative propaganda that mainstream try to drum up (who really should be charged with inciting people imo), there's a lot of good that's been done thanks to Trump and I'm grateful he is so thick skinned (and headed) to be able to front it all.
The impeachment is a good thing. It has increased donations to "party Trump". It was a stupid thing to do, it's just going to rally support for Trump. Heck, I'm in Australia and I've just donated a couple thousand "indirectly" to his campaign. Yes, I'm trying to influence your elections.
It'll be good for Australia, Europe and the world to see Trump in a second turn.
So there's not much mental gymnastics to do. I see heads, you see tails. It's just a matter of persepective and who one listens to. But based upon actions and support for libertarian ideals, Trump has really turned back the tide from very authoritarian socialist and unscientific regressive beliefs and ideals that has come out of what was meant to be progressive.

Rick, it would be super helpful if you'd include some information in your retorts.
What is it about my statement that's ignorant? Which of Trump's values do you think Phil and Trump share? Do they agree about the sanctity of marriage? Respect for women? The importance of honesty? Fiscal responsibility? Respect for the Constitution? Restraint and moderation? Importance of religion?
Frankly, if you think that Phil and Trump hold the same things dear then you have a very low opinion of Phil.

I'm not going to do the work for you, but you couldn't name 10 things, policies, that Trump has worked for, that Philip would agree with?
As I said before, Jesus Christ isn't a candidate for POTUS. So, philip, just like I, voted for the best candidate that had a chance to win. Even if we say he's "less worse" than the other candidate, he's still not the antithesis of all Phil holds dear.

Ed: Frankly, if you think that Phil and Trump hold the same things dear then you have a very low opinion of Phil.
Obviously, I've severely criticized some of Trump's irritating habits, qualities and actions. And no, I do not think he's done anything impeachable. What I do see is these Democrats couldn't care less about Biden's son's activities - even if illegal - nor of Joe's strange focus upon getting rid of a specific Ukrainian prosecutor and using U.S. influence to do so. And if Trump's phone call's contents had been made by Obama - they would care less. For Democrats, it's all about finding anything, whatsoever, and to see if they can make it stick enough for impeachment. And it's likely to uncover a bunch of stuff they'll seriously regret. And it would be nice to see some other top Republican's develop Trump's thick skin and aggressiveness, yet without all the ridiculousness, crass statements, and unbelievable narcissism.
But nice try, Ed, trying to get Rick, K and I to turn on each other.
Really, having a political forum on G&S always brings out the best in us all, right?
