The irony of "researching" is that you do none but love stating your opinion.
And then, when challenged and things become too difficult, well I believe this animation was modeled after you (press play):

Irony, seriously? Detecting "irony" ? Didnt you get past that in middle school?

Oh, you didnt "achieve" that status, and least not as recently as to be within living memory.

We don't have or call it middle school in Australia.
Stick to the US. You'll fit in better there.

Have you done your due diligence in researching the shroud yet? Wholly and extensively?
With your scientific mind, I would think this would be a priority for you to look into as we are basically saying it is strong evidence of a miracle.
And since you claim to be very familiar with scientists and their communities, it would be interesting to see what you have to say about those scientists and their work involved.

Where has Bippy gone? I missed that y:-/

Are their beliefs really so fickle that they feel challenged by the authenticity of the shroud?
I think the problem is being intimidated it is authentic because it would destroy their worldview. So they ignore it. Most of their worldviews are strongly emotionally based hidden behind whatever front has been put forward to cope.
Regarding your last lines sure why not, there are all kinds. Thats not me. What is me is someone who spends a major portion of my time, every day on yes, research.

I'm convinced I should study this subject, but its not on my list of priorities at this time. I trust you'd see why I dont want yet
another research project.

I admit that I didn't even look to see who wrote it. Your words could've been written by FL. Maybe you're turning into an Australian FL.

Cutting me off or threatening to ignore me may work well in your life's social context.
But doing it here, especially with me, isn't going to really intimidate me much.

Not really  :p I put a minimum of 30 hours a week into research, been doing that for 4 years now.
There's never too much knowing, or my desire to ^_^

Sorry Mallz and everyone , I was dealing with some family and financial difficulties and a younger brother (a few people here know about him as I've pmed a few about him). I was also excited to be trying a new treatment on my mom whose been in a vegetative state for 3 years . Unfortunately it didn't work.

I'll be sneaking in and out in the next few weeks until our house problem gets better situated .

You know I can't stay away from the shroud for too long

God bless you all, and it's good to see Audie here as well. We do butt heads but she helps to keep me honest at times

I'm posting the link from the BBC, though, because it gives dated misinformation saying:

Some devotees believe the shroud is the burial cloth of Jesus Christ. Sceptics point to carbon dating that suggests it is a medieval forgery from the 1300s.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-32368134

You should email and correct them Bippy :)

Edit:
P.s. Does anyone know if the shroud documentary on Netflix is an acceptable introduction to the shroud? If I remember right it's filled with dated misinformation as well, but wondering if anyone's watched it.
Mallz you know if I did email them , I wouldn't stop with one email
Can you imagine an international incident started by some guy that names himself after his beloved poodle

As far as the bbc , most shroudies know that they generally lean towards the skeptical side on anything that is Christian, but then again this is England where you have a population that is almost 50% atheist .

Most shroud researchers have known for quote some time that the 1988 c14 dating was refuted starting in 2005 by agnistic thermal chemist ray Rogers , and subsequently there were over 15 protocols violated in those tests . Anyone that still adheres to the 1988 tests simply either hasn't researched it or can't accept the reality of what was uncovered by science itself .

Mallz I will look around for some good introductory videos to shroud newbies .

Welcome back Bips, missed you my friend :)

You really should email the BBC. What have you got to lose? Someone, somewhere has to stand up and be counted and your research into the shroud is extensive.

Hey Mallz, how you doing ? Just got a write from bippy and he's up to his but in alligators with home and family stuff... he'll probably be pretty spotty on here for a while, but assuredly he has not forgotten us and will pop in whenever he can. He's got a lot on the table right now...

BUT, :goodpost: he loves his Shroud thread and won't abandon it, or us ! ;) We need to keep this thread alive in his absence so stay on the lookout for the good stuff you've already brought to us too. Me too !
