Vista for all I know has better security features than Windows XP, other than that, I don't know much about it. I got the Vista Mod and transformed my XP to a Vista with less than 100 MB's of space on my HD. The full version of Vista could use more memory than XP.. Formatting with FAT32 should work the same way, you should'nt have any problems. Why don't you check BIOS setup utility and make sure its detecting your Hard Drive. This is not the problem with formatting, I suspect. This is the matter of detecting it. Your vista has the same options as XP, click start, my computer, right click manage and make sure Vista is detecting your HD. Also, if its not detecting it, you might not be formatting it. Your Vista does have built in tools just like XP, so this situation is a bit weird if it worked fine before when you had XP. If you have any questions about the hardware Ill be happy to answer back.
