But you see the problem right? Simply making an assertion isn't good enough. You have to make a case for why you are asserting a statement of fact as true and desirable.

alrighty then. I dont think there's a problem with gay marriage because it doesn't effect anyone who's against it. There's my argument - "it doesn't effect you, it only allows happiness to a certain group of people".
