I have read that Leviathan is probably a crocodile while Behemoth is simply a hippopotamus.

I don't think any Christian would have a disagreement with that. The disagreements come, with the way each of us interprets what is written.I would like to post a couple of my thoughts on the matter. I have to believe God as a Christian. His word is his word and as Christians we must believe it as it is written.
Braylan, first, the Hebrew word for "day", is "yom". It has more than one 'literal' meaning. see link:http://www.godandscience.org/youngearth/genesis.htmlIn Genesis it talks of Gods creation in 6 days... 7th he rested. However later he says he wLked in the garden with Adam... How long did he walk there before Adam sinned?
I wouldn't say they were timeless, in the same sense that God exists outside of time. Adam was created in this creation, in which, time exists.Adam & Eve were timeless, they knew no death until the fall.
Genesis 9:1-4: 1 And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. 2 The fear of you and the terror of you will be on every beast of the earth and on every bird of the [a]sky; with everything that creeps on the ground, and all the fish of the sea, into your hand they are given. 3 Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I give all to you, as I gave the green plant. 4 Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.Second you will notice after the flood God gives permission Noah that he and all creatures are allowed to eat meat now...
Reread the text, and you'll see that it makes no mention of animals being vegetarian before Adam's sin. If one sees the possibility of animals being vegetarian, pre-fall, then the possibility has to come from somewhere other than the biblical text.So if you take it as I have, it creates a possibility that all creatures up to the point of the flood were vegetarian...
You certainly can believe that if you wish. But, just keep in mind that you'd be reading something into the text, that isn't there. What does this mean you might ask? Well I believe that it is possible that dinosaurs walked beside man before the flood, somewhat harmoniously.
