I don't think demonic forces invaded his body did they? Please provide the passages where it says that.

Sorry, I wasn't meaning that Job had demonic forces invade his body. It was more in relation to the general principle outlined in Job that with the permission of God Satan is given free reign as long as he does not kill Job, if one believes in demonic forces and so forth then on a similar principle to Job they may be allowed to act even on the holiest of people with the permission of God.

Good point, Pro. There is certainly a difference between Satan or demons being able to affect a person's life, and a true Holy Spirit filled Christian being possessed by Satan or a demon.

Some differentiate in these instances by calling one "Possession" and the other "Oppression."

There are past spiritual "roots" that need to be cast out of you (stuff you went through before you were saved opened up demonic doorways). There's a book called Shadowboxing by Dr. Henry Malone, which will tell you exactly how to become free of these things. You will have to trust in God and apply the strategy you learn in the book. If you can get help by a holy elder or pastor with this, it could make it a lot easier. There are demonic spiritual elements tied to your mind, and you will need God to take care of that. Make sure you talk to God, whether it be by thinking or out loud -try not to force anything, just speak from your heart / what's on your mind. Another great thing to know is to get into God's word often: ESV or KJV (not NKJV) .. this is the window/mirror into communicating with God and there will be attempts to make you view reading as boring or of no real value, but this is one of the most important things you can do for your spiritual growth. I'm going to make a new thread with way more detailed info on treating schizophrenia... Good luck!!

Ok that would make some sort of sense and I do agree with you in part but also in conjunction with my Doctor, I agree that my past has had an effect on my current state but I do not believe that demons have a hold on me. I do trust God and we talk all the time, my faith is growing daily which has helped with my mental state and I probably do not read my Bible as often as I should but when I do I read an NIV life application study bible and I also have an excellent concordance, I don't think it is nessesary to read a KJV to understand the word of God or even an ESV, I never find the Bible boring especially the new testament.
I am actively involved in my church in the worship team playing guitar and I also help run the local basketball competition as the fund raiser for our club ( run by church members ), I constantly examine what I believe and base that on a Biblical model as I understand it.
I will be interested in your take on schizophrenia as this is an area that interests me as I have a friend with this disease.

There is both a demonic aspect and a regular mental aspect to how certain ways of negative thinking come about.
You are right that you don't need a certain version of the Bible to know the word of God, but I have found the KJV and the ESV to be the most powerful versions. The NIV has been edited a lot... There is a dire warning at the end of Revelation (22: 18-19) about modifying the language of the Holy Bible. Not any issue for the reader though.
You sound like an excellent leader, and I commend you for your work.

I wouldnt say that all mental illness is demonic, BUT i'm sure there are a few rare cases where a person is thought to be crazy but truley possessed. Demonic possession of a human is not as common as you think. I like to think 98% of all exorcisms are , fake, for lack of a better word.
Exorcisms before mass media/communication were extremely rare, now most of them are in the persons head, simply implants of movies, books, and testimonies the person is exposed too; and if I remember correctly, I don't think a babtised person can become possessed, but don't quote me on that
.
And spiritual healing is a whole nothing matter. Again , occurs, but semi-rare. And its strange how it works too, I've seen cancer be cured in a day through spiritual healing but a bruise on someones knee not be cured. It's something I don't think we are meant to understand, and for it to even have a chance of occurring you need "great faith" to put it in jesus's words. And an aspect of testing god will also come into play I imagine; if you seek only to heal something to put god to the test, I seem to doubt it will occur.

Exactly so, in my opinion.
