We must read our bibles to become Christians of course :) the keys to the kingdom of heaven are written therein. It is the handbook to how we should glorify God and how we should treat others. If other matters were so important Our Father would have given this to us in scripture. There are many on here that pick apart scripture and pick each other apart also.
I think the issue perhaps is me, you guys obviously enjoy the endless banter. I came here thinking that this forum was something that it's not.
I don't think that we should say that we MUST read our bibles to become Christians.
We become Christians by the grace of Our Lord and the sealing by the HS, not because we read anything.
Many a person has come to Christ for many other reasons and many other ways besides the bible.
We should be cautious NOT to place a limit on Our Lord and how anyone can come to Him.
What I meant to write is to become better christians. a typo.
I agree with you, there are many paths.
I believe it is unique for everyone and not dependant upon anything but a love and longing for Jesus.
I place no limits
or boundries
I never question His Authority
WE are all worthy
of his love and sacrifice

One can argue that it is NOT the bible but the HS that helps us become/try to be better.
But I understand what you mean and I agree.
The bible is crucial in helping us to understand God's love and grace and in helping us try to be better than we are.

It isn't the bible but the HS that delievers and inspires.
The bible is the god inspired tool and the HS the God inspired vessel.

The HS is God, not an inspired vessel. :)

Very true neo :) Why I should be sleeping at 2am, we are the vessel that the HS inspires.

Freaking hilarious as usual. (Sarcasm) I see it's working great for you and this forum. I can count on two hands the regular users on here. What was once a flourishing community on here has dwindled down to you lot. Your repeated arguments and rudeness trying to be disguised as humour has not served this forum. All one needs to do is read through old posts for the evidence on this. There has been some beautiful testimonies and heartfelt sharing which is recieved mostly with warmth but they by far and large never stick around. It is no surprise. To gain balance on an argument you need diverness in opinion and fresh ideas, but here you have the same arguments going around and around without anyone really listening because they are too stuck up their own hmmm. You all just piss in each other's pockets never bringing anyone closer To God or yourselves.
Geez! Who invited Debbie Downer?

Mel,

It is a discussion board. With certain forums to discuss certain topics. The topics get heated sometimes. That's because people are passionate about what they believe.

If you don't like participating in heated topics, you don't have to. You're more than welcome to just stick to less emotional discussions. But don't be surprised if a topic catches your eye, and you get into it with us.

Welcome to our dysfunctional family.

Why don't you stop by General Chit Chat and tell us a little about yourself. You might actually like some of us once you get to know us.

Just wanted to send out a sincere apology, I was harsh and could have explained myself with a lot more eloquence. As this is a small community on here, everyone gets over time quite a feel for each other (not literally ;) ), humour, different styles of expression, and overall personas, sometimes there is banter and debate, and it is responded mostly with healthy difference of opinion and mutual respect for each other. I think that when newbies enter the same jest and expression is forwarded on to them without the benefit of the same familiarity that allows discussion to flow without misunderstanding.
When friends poke fun, respond to us in jest or treat us in a critical manner we cop it on the chin, take the criticism, poke fun back as the built up rapport allows this, if on the other hand a stranger responded to us in the same way it would be an entirely different situation. I think that at times from my experience and reading others old posts that this has led to misunderstanding but that is just my opinion and not the reason for me re-hashing. I just wanted to explain what I meant.
Thank you Rick for extending a friendly hand, after my response you really could have told me to go jump and it probably would have been warranted. I am glad that I have stuck around long enough to realise that I was wrong in some of my assumptions and I look forward to getting to know "you lot" ;) more. Again my apologies if I offended anyone.

Haha Fl, I am not the teary, sentimental hormonal type more the get outta my way before I bulldoze you over type, so you will probably enjoy my posts on a monthly basis ;)
And I am a big softy, being kind is very important to me. Let the love shine through I say, I smile and laugh constantly quite often at all the wrong, inappropriate times and I like to have fun, being a Debbie Downer as Rick put it is not my usual mojo. But I am a very passionate, confident, honest to a fault kinda person, I call it like I see it and I surround myself with freinds who are like that also, honest and are not afraid to voice it, they help keep me grounded and are the first to say ''Mel, pull your head in your being a .........". I have no poker face, if im feeling something your going to know about it, this has it faults but at least people know where they stand with me, im not going to say one thing and mean something else.
So no Im not getting soft I am already soft an mushy and gooey :) but a firecracker at the same time!

I did not write it! Someone hacked into my computer and wrote something under my name. I am very upset over this and plan to lodge a formal complaint to all the G&S moderators. Dearest melanie, please accept my sincere heartfelt apology if the hacking I was a victim of has caused you any distress.

Hahaha FL your a twit.
That's terrible, please except my heartfelt, sincere condolences that someone is messing with your posts like this!!
I assure you, despite my initial shock and disgust that no distress has been felt on my behalf.
Sometimes when violations of our privacy occur it is the people who we are closest too who are the perpetrators and in his particular case I am convinced this is the case.
I think that FL is to blame, not you, the other FL, I know it's confusing but alternate personalities often are, it doesn't make you crazy just "special".
