I just do not want feel like something is not ok when I will visit that church.
How is their doctrine? Do they have a statement of beliefs that you can read? Most churches have a "What We Believe", either on their website, or on some literature.
I need to look into what augsburg profesion is in detail.

Personally, it's not my cup of tea. I find too many things I disagree with, to be comfortable there. But you need to decide for yourself. If you want to attend a church, do you have a lot of options where you live? I know you live in a pretty big city.1over137 wrote:It would be in Slovak language.

If you decide to go, pray beforehand, that God, through the Holy Spirit, will show you if something is wrong. Then you'll have to decide if it's "wrong" enough to keep you from going, or if it's something you can live with.

I pm'd you. If it's important to you to go to a church in your village, you need to take that into consideration too. That may outweigh any negatives you may see.(assuming you see any)1over137 wrote:Feel free to pm me the issues you have.RickD wrote:Personally, it's not my cup of tea. Well, as I know myself, I will search the contact on the web to that woman priest and ask my questions.

You mentioned two churches - what is the other one?1over137 wrote:I just would like to connect to other Christians in my village. Not thinking about being a priest (not yet : ) )
I just do not want feel like something is not ok when I will visit that church.
Anything associated with the World Council of Churches I personally hold with suspect.
Have you thought of hosting a home church, a house church, in your home with just a few folks and see how it goes?

With few folks would be great. I need to find those folks.

Can you start your own group? Do you know other Christian friends?1over137 wrote:Well, as I know myself, I will search the contact on the web to that woman priest and ask my questions.
Ask if they'd like to meet once a week. Share dinner. You could take turns hosting, or meeting out somewhere.
Discussion should be about God. Just keep it relaxed though.
Then maybe topics can be added in, to discuss... anything of concern regarding the faith or like.
Go back to the early Christian church days of the Apostles. You know?
"Where two or more are gathered in my name..." (Matt 18:20)
No reason why you have to "copy" the modern conception of church.
It might be better to keep it real. Keeps you getting that weird Christian smile (you all know what I'm talking about! )
"Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13)

It would be a blessing if they missed the cairns and got lost on the way back. Or if
the Thing on the ice got them tonight.
I could only turn and stare in horror at the chief surgeon.
