And that is what defenders of Our Faith are suppose to do.
BUT never let yourself forget that the burden of proof is on the person making the claim.
THEY have to prove that what they find is that of Yehshua, Bar Yosef of Nazareth.

Audie,
Christ is FAR more than a teacher, than a person that said some nice "timeless words of wisdom".
IF He did not rise than there is no salvation in Christ.
You may not understand the significance of that BUT every Christian is painfully aware of what that would mean.

Im not such a naif as to not know the story line. just questioning if it means ALL is for nothing.

I think this is pretty indisputable. Worth a watch.

Silvertusk,

All things being equal, their hyper thin evidence collapses under the weight of it's own short comings. Could Christ be persona non grata in Jerusalem after all the commotion He induced. Not one of the dozens or more of the religious class who condemned Him, living in Jerusalem, not one of the disciples or any of the other tens of thousands whom He preached to ... recognized Him over the following days of His continued life with wife and children ? This story is hyped nonsense that made them a lot of notoriety and money. Don't let it distort your view or faith in Him. Satan at work in the 21st century, and the devils' mode of influence is highly elevated with today's mass communication.

That is my point Audie, that you question means you don't fully understand the significance of the resurrection.
Without it NOTHING in Christianity woks, it all falls apart.

The reality is acually kind of simple:
There would have been NO REASON to hide the fact that Jesus was married or had a child.
None.
It was perfectly peaceable for a Jewish teacher or prophet even messiah, to have a child and be married.
The Gospels would have said so.

No, the failure to understand is you dont get my question.

All around the world, people of many cultures understand and observe
"do as you would have others do unto you". But Christians would cease to do so, if they found out their story is not true?

No.

But, our salvation hinges on the resurrection of Christ. No resurrection, no salvation.

So, S, do you agree with this..."Without it NOTHING in Christianity woks, it all falls apart."

I know you didn't ask me, but I agree. Christianity without the resurrection, isn't Christianity.

Let us not forget how the Pharisees, Sadducees, Scribes, High Priest of Jesus' time hated him so much as to put him to death and that it is recorded in Matthew this:

Mat 28:12-15, "Then the priests met with the older Jewish leaders and made a plan. They paid the soldiers a lot of money 13 and said to them, "Tell the people that Jesus' followers came during the night and stole the body while you were sleeping. 14 If the governor hears about this, we will talk to him and keep you out of trouble." 15 So the soldiers kept the money and obeyed the priests. And that story is still spread among the Jews even today. " ERV

So what lengths would they go to bring discredit to the Resurrection that fits the above evidence?

Again - this tomb evidence points to a forgery.

We are living in a time when the world desires to war against Christian and the covenant Jewish people and it is heating up. The bible foretold of a great falling away as well as this hate increasing.

Jesus foretold of the Temples destruction before it happened and that OT system is no more. Those who placed Jesus on Trial and condemned him died horribly. Israel was scattered into the nations during the 70 AD period. Then 1,878 years later Israel became became a nation in one day: the covenant people returned a second time as all foretold.

The Psalms 83 war has not happened yet and yet we see the alignment and ideology of these old nations arising in the same geographic locations. ISIS is one example. So we will be facing increased hostility by those that still hate Jesus and they will produce more garbage to discredit him.

The big question is why?

Why do they want to do this - what is the real reason?

What for?

None of the answers I have heard here or elsewhere from opponents do not answer any of these at all on any level of credibility...

It really comes down to this - they hate being defined as sinners - so they seek to kill, destroy, bring to ruin biblical faith in reckless hate for just being identified as missing God's best for life.

For those of you who are not Christians - What has Jesus ever done to you to cause such hate, or disdain, or unbelief in you?

Here are some notes - the DNA of bones do not line up nor support such claims

http://www.godandscience.org/apologetic ... jesus.html

http://www.sbl-site.org/publications/ar ... icleId=649
4. But what about the DNA tests? Doesn’t that prove Jesus was in the tomb? Let’s look closer at what the DNA test measured. It took residue (there were no bones to examine) from the ossuaries Jacobovici identified as belonging to both Jesua and Mariamene, and used mitochondrial DNA testing to see if they were related. The results proved to be negative, indicating to him that the two individuals were not related maternally. He thus assumes the two were married. But Bauckham isn’t impressed. He writes, “If ‘Jesus’ and ‘Mariamene’ weren’t related matrilineally, why jump to the conclusion that they were husband and wife, rather than being related through their fathers? ”

It is the fact that these particular names have been discovered in the same tomb that has fueled speculation that it really could be Jesus’ tomb. But many scholars believe Cameron and Jacobovici have skewed the evidence to build a case that just isn’t there. Additionally, there are many contradictory questions that need to be answered before one jumps to a conclusion that overturns centuries of historical scholarship. Article Link

Audie,
The Golden rule is not what Christianity ( or any other religion for that matter) is about.
It is the starting point, not the end goal.
When Christ said to do unto others as we would have them do unto us, He didn't say anything new and revolutionary.
He did, however, make it clear that it was a starting point.
Things like forgive no matter how many times you are wronged, pray for your enemies, love others like yourself, things like that may have been great but they are NOT the core of Christianity and not even the goal.
The goal, the Gospel, is eternal life for those that believe and have faith in Christ, salvation for those that believe and have faith in Christ.
And if Christ is NOT risen, then to have faith in Him and believe in Him is to believe in someone that not only did not fulfill what He said He would do BUT that is dead and can do nothing for anyone.
