There is a great deal of overlap between abbreviations and acronyms. Every acronym is an abbreviation because the acronym is a shortened form of a word or phrase. However, not every abbreviation is an acronym, since some abbreviations - those made from words - are not new words formed from the first few letters of a series of words.

I can't reveal that. It's only on a need-to-know basis. And YOU definitely don't need to know.

We stand corrected; it is for the best that we be spared the grim and unnatural details.

Okay -- the public bathroom situation. Most of us know very well what gender we are. -- for the one in a thousand who Doesn't. Find a place with a single- user locked door. Try to find inner peace with who you are. Male or female. I truly feel sorry for them. They do have inner issues that need to be dealt with.

The point is that IF this is a mental issue ( and for some specialists it is) then "finding inner peace with who you are" is NOT solving the problem but may make it worse ( the high suicide issue mentioned in the article).

This entire situation has left me feeling more isolated from the current culture than at any one time in my entire life. But nobody is rushing to pat my behind over my "feelings".... thanks, SJWs.

I'm so sorry for you feelings Hortator. Maybe you need to seek therapy. White privilege is a mental disorder.

Good advice! And they shouldn't expect everyone else to dance around their issue or for them to want us to change OUR comfort zones for their issues. But how transgenderphobic of you!

I feel sorry for them, too! Who would ever want to be in such inner turmoil. That inner peace sure isn't going to be found in a surgeon's office! Perhaps SOME relief might come in a psychiatrist's office. And, yes, the problem is INNER! Strange enough that a minute number of individuals are convinced that their transgender issues are due to a genetic mistake, stranger still that so many in the psychiatric field agree with them. So, tell them to just mutilate their bodies until they get some weird Frankensteinish resemblance of the opposite sex - as if that's going to solve where the REAL problem lies (their minds!).

I think I will seek compromise, halfway between the two doors.

Well, genetics Does play a role -- but surgery isn't especially The answer, either. And I'll even put God into the picture -- after all He Has made us. God does Not make mistakes. but He Does Allow 'stuff' to happen. So, do we look To Him for His help in handling 'stuff'? He Can help us come to terms / accept who we are in Christ. Because we all have eternity to look forward To. A believer will Someday have a perfect body Forever. So -- we ask God to help us deal with our bodies Now. And our bodies can have Lots of problems not even relating to our gender.
We have a thunder storm going on. So will get this posted before we lose the electric.

Transgenderphobic of me? The 'rolling eyes' emoticon -- in other words? I'm supposed to be more supportive of 'those' people? Sorta maybe like being 'homophobic'? "We" are to show more compassion to those who choose to act on their same-sex attractions rather than practice self-control. So -- if 'they' were indeed, born a certain way, then they Should be allowed to act on their attractions in a physical way? The only problem There........

Apparently That's why God - our creator- has given us guidelines to live by. So when there Are situations that arise in Society, that we can look it up in His Word To us -- and read those guidelines and apply them to our situation and live accordingly.

Crochet - I think you missed my that my sarcasm was aimed at people who would think you were Transgenderphobic - as I think you are absolutely correct in what you said. :D The blinking emoticon is over anyone who would say that about you. And those who would accuse you of this are likely phobic over those with Christian values in general - how so open-minded and tolerant they are, eh? y:-?

All I wish is that, anywhere outside of these forums, I could say what I believe without people jumping on me. Liberal people respond like I just sunk the whole world whenever I talk about trasngenderism. I'm not hateful. I'm not name calling, saying "abomination" this, abomination that. I'm just critical of the LGBT movement. That's all.

Sorry Rick, didn't mean to rant at you. I know you're the saint of sarcasm 'round these parts, so it's always clear when you're making a funny
