You mean acronyms!

How dare you question my authority as the official G&S Grammar police!!!!Philip wrote:You mean acronyms!
There is a great deal of overlap between abbreviations and acronyms. Every acronym is an abbreviation because the acronym is a shortened form of a word or phrase. However, not every abbreviation is an acronym, since some abbreviations - those made from words - are not new words formed from the first few letters of a series of words.

I can't reveal that. It's only on a need-to-know basis. And YOU definitely don't need to know.Audie wrote:How many police are you? We need to know if you are plural.RickD wrote:How dare you question my authority as the official G&S Grammar police!!!!Philip wrote:You mean acronyms!

We stand corrected; it is for the best that we be spared the grim and unnatural details.RickD wrote:I can't reveal that. It's only on a need-to-know basis. The point is that IF this is a mental issue ( and for some specialists it is) then "finding inner peace with who you are" is NOT solving the problem but may make it worse ( the high suicide issue mentioned in the article).crochet1949 wrote:Okay -- the public bathroom situation. I'm so sorry for you feelings Hortator. Maybe you need to seek therapy. Good advice! And they shouldn't expect everyone else to dance around their issue or for them to want us to change OUR comfort zones for their issues. But how transgenderphobic of you!Crochet: Okay -- the public bathroom situation. Most of us know very well what gender we are. -- for the one in a thousand who Doesn't. I feel sorry for them, too! Who would ever want to be in such inner turmoil. That inner peace sure isn't going to be found in a surgeon's office! Perhaps SOME relief might come in a psychiatrist's office. And, yes, the problem is INNER! Strange enough that a minute number of individuals are convinced that their transgender issues are due to a genetic mistake, stranger still that so many in the psychiatric field agree with them. So, tell them to just mutilate their bodies until they get some weird Frankensteinish resemblance of the opposite sex - as if that's going to solve where the REAL problem lies (their minds!).Crochet: Try to find inner peace with who you are. Male or female. I truly feel sorry for them. They do have inner issues that need to be dealt with.
Crochet - I think you missed my that my sarcasm was aimed at people who would think you were Transgenderphobic - as I think you are absolutely correct in what you said. The blinking emoticon is over anyone who would say that about you. And those who would accuse you of this are likely phobic over those with Christian values in general - how so open-minded and tolerant they are, eh?Crochet: Transgenderphobic of me? The 'rolling eyes' emoticon -- in other words? I'm supposed to be more supportive of 'those' people? Sorta maybe like being 'homophobic'? "We" are to show more compassion to those who choose to act on their same-sex attractions rather than practice self-control. So -- if 'they' were indeed, born a certain way, then they Should be allowed to act on their attractions in a physical way? The only problem There........
All I wish is that, anywhere outside of these forums, I could say what I believe without people jumping on me. Liberal people respond like I just sunk the whole world whenever I talk about trasngenderism. I'm not hateful. I'm not name calling, saying "abomination" this, abomination that. I'm just critical of the LGBT movement. That's all.RickD wrote:I'm so sorry for you feelings Hortator. Maybe you need to seek therapy.
