Re: Stop the insanity!!! Transgender "Rights".
It is true that transgender people have been around a very long time - and it is probably almost certain that the tiniest percentage of them would ever have been detectable, much less detected. Also true, transgender bathroom discrimination is not exactly a burning issue - least not in the real world of bathrooms, or outside of pin-headed PC person's sensibilities. I've never even THOUGHT about this issue. It sells newspapers, gives the talking heads and the idiots the interview something to keep the easily bored from being more so. Which begs the question, WHAT IS THIS ISSUE REALLY ABOUT???!!! Why now? Why all the hoopla over an issue that is really a non-issue? It's because of the forced/manufactured cultural war that the PC crowd, progressives and other groups with societal agendas are pushing, and the reactions of those whose sensibilities they threaten. And thus the politicians and everyone else is weighing in on what is, almost entirely, a media-hyped problem that, in the real world of tinkle rooms isn't a blip on the radar. Anyone whom really thinks this is a real problem and burning issue (transgenders being discriminated in which bathroom they use), is a total moron!

It's about transgender people pushing to have their identities recognized. It's happening now because now is when they're pushing. The result has been the same as it always is when a marginalized group seeks equal rights - people who are open to change are okay with it and people who aren't freak out.
I wouldn't put it on par with global warming, or crony capitalism, or a bunch of other things, but it's clearly a problem for transgender people, and the fact that they're not content to shut up and deal is clearly a problem for conservatives, so here we are.Philip wrote:Anyone whom really thinks this is a real problem and burning issue (transgenders being discriminated in which bathroom they use), is a total moron!

Somebody needs to ask President Obama, if his daughters will be forced to share a bathroom with a man?

The law doesn't apply to the private schools that the Obama daughters attend.abelcainsbrother wrote:Somebody needs to ask President Obama, if his daughters will be forced to share a bathroom with a man?

Yeah I know, but but this goes way beyond Obamacare,same-sex marriages, etc.Christians should be standing up and fighting this, supporting North Carolina anyway they can. This goes much deeeper than this even. If this is not stopped eventually your boss or union will be able to fire you if you take a stand against this for religious reasons and they find out.It will effect the right to work. This is the LGBT minority trying to push around the majority.RickD wrote:Did Obama enroll in obamacare? Re: Stop the insanity!!! Transgender "Rights".
Why do you doofuses think "Obama isn't in Obamacare" is a good argument? Obamacare was never meant for people who have insurance, which the President of the United States of America obviously does. Obamacare was supposed to help uninsured people get access to affordable insurance so they didn't go broke if they got sick.

I agree with this statementIf liberalism is a mental illness then conservatism is a traumatic brain injury...
The main effect obamacare had was to entrap the poor class and make them poorer. And Obamacare has been forced on the poor class as it's so nearly impossible to get anything beyond part time to get insurance benefits as companies changed their policies in response to obamacare(I know not all places offer theses benefits). We didn't need obamacare, we needed a different universal health care that wouldn't entrap the poor and make them poorer. Obamacare is a horrible thing We need the government financially out in all sectors without all the federal blackmail.

I'd need to see some evidence that there was actually a change post-Obamacare, a lot of employers were using mostly part-time help or hiring people as private contractors with no benefits before Obama was elected. That was especially common in low-skill, low-pay positions. Consequently a lot of people were stuck with 2-3 part-time jobs, but still couldn't swing insurance. Those were the workers that the ACA was supposed to help.
I'm half with you. I think what we needed was the same kind of universal health care that they have in every other developed nation on the planet. We all pay in, everybody is covered, and if you want more you can pay for it yourself. Healthcare shouldn't be tethered to employment.Mallz wrote:We didn't need obamacare, we needed a different universal health care that wouldn't entrap the poor and make them poorer. Re: Stop the insanity!!! Transgender "Rights".
I live in a state where the transgender law became law at the beginning of this year for all business. Most of the problems I hear people have with the law is not about transgenders going to the restroom or locker room, but about straight guys using this law to go to the ladies restrooms locker rooms, and showers because they know nobody will question them now.
An example of this happening near where I live

If they were just required to use the restroom in accordance to their sex organs; IOW get reassignment surgery before allowed in the opposite restroom, locker rooms, or showers, that I think would clear up most of the objection people have concerning this law.

I see the effect on many people I know and who they know (personally and casually ). It's been apparent around me and of table conversation (and used to be hot discussion when it came out). I don't know if studies have been produced to back this up. I don't feel I need them. I've seen it affect people in Oregon, Washington, Connecticut and Colorado. And the conversation is the same despite political leanings and all from people who are affected by it, and those they know.edwardmurphy wrote: I'd need to see some evidence that there was actually a change post-Obamacare, a lot of employers were using mostly part-time help or hiring people as private contractors with no benefits before Obama was elected. I dunno. Being in health care, I know the horrors of the universal health cares in developed countries. I don't like how they do it, either. But they are better than obamacare.
