I guess I should be clear:

No. It was of my own probing.
In asking how can you love Jesus if you haven't "seen" Him, I meant more than mere sight.

Jesus tells us to love God and love one another, and I've often heard it said that Christian love is not just words but action - being loving. So to love Christ must mean not just to feel love for him (which is what it makes me think of first) but to do what he says.

One can feel yet not believe.
Once can feel yet not act.
One can believe yet not feel.
Once can believe yet not act.
One can act yet not believe.
One can act yet not feel.

As Christ has loved us, we are to love him and others.

Christ is like a mirror. We mirror his actions and his heart. And as we imitate him we are transformed into his likeness

2 Corinthians 3:18

I suppose it is possible to love Christ despite being a Christian.
Guess I kinda asked for that :P

What about when Christ said if you love me you will keep my commandments? y:-?
Yeah, I forgot the "not".

Idk about that. You can love someone despite keeping his commandments, despite anything really.

Because He was willing to be submissive To His Father for the sake Of our salvation. And all that He was willing to take on His body -- the pain -- the torture Before Giving Himself. Does it really 'sink in' to a person what kind of 'love' that is.

We think in terms of 'love' as 'loving' ice cream or Grandma or our kids or our spouse or boyfriend.

We love Him because He first loved us ..... think there's more to that verse but can't think of it.

"What does it mean to love Christ?" We want to please Him -- we are willing to do what He asks --- in the bigger picture - we know that His plan is the Best one for us. (at least we 'hope' it is?) Maybe it's easier to follow a real live person?!

1 John 4:19 NKJV is the scripture and yes there is a lot in that verse.

He first loved us...when we deserved it not indeed changes a person

That change, we begin to learn to Love God more than we do Ice Cream...

IMO: We try to fit our ideas of love into the equation and mess things all up instead of simply accepting that He cherishes, nurtures, disciplines, teaches us, helps us, there for us, lets us learn from mistakes, just plain real and closer than anyone to you can be. All those things define what agape love actually consist of and is like.

We make things too difficult rather than simply realize how he first loved us
