I don't know if agree 100% with that in the case of Islam and things like Sharia Law.

When Christianity became the official religion of the Roman empire, it very naturally "adopted" many customs and made them Christian, people shouldn't have any issues with that UNLESS it goes against EXPLICIT BIBLE teachings.
Heck, going against things that are of pagan origin is pretty much goings against anything from Baptism to wedding rings and honeymoons.

Sharia law gets a bad rap. Westerners talk about it as if it meant the same thing to all Muslims and was completely devoid of nuance and unimpacted by cultural, social, historical, and economic factors. Some of the worst offenders are people who are incensed when others talk about their beliefs in the same black and white terms.

actually, this is incorrect. Ishtar and easter are both pronounced the same, and this is where the bunnies and eggs come into the picture. eggs and bunnies are both signs of fertility, and since she was the goddess of fertility, those were her symbols.

Jenna, eggs and rabbits have both been common pagan fertility symbols. Scholars think that the word Easter has its origins in Old German. The word for Easter in Greek and Latin is Pascha. The consensus view is that the English name was taken from a preexisting German pagan fertility goddess, who was celebrated in April - the beginning of Spring. Why would Western take the name of an ancient Babylonian goddess for a Christian holiday with a completely different name? Why would ancient German-speakers even have heard of Ishtar?
