I once went to a shop on my bike and left that shop walking back home. Realized I had left the bike there around midnight and went to look for it but obviously it wasn't there anymore.
You know what, the reason I left that bike there was that the whole time I had been thinking about coding. It was just a new thing I had learnt and was trying to code a browser. I was 14 and very much focused on it and daydreamed about it or solved problems in my head. So when I left that shop I was already thinking about the new problem and the bike wasn't important anymore to that so my brain just didn't focus on it.
So it happens, buddy. You need to get your priorities straight if anything. Sometimes we are not absent-minded, just hyper-focused on something(s), thinking of things that might not be that relevant at that time.
