And, really, that's how I prefer it. True fellowship happens when we can come as we are.
Rarely do you get that in a real life church, people being so forthcoming in their disagreements.
And yet, we all have a heart for Christ, at least, excluding the non-Christian contingent here.
You just got to why I can't find a real life church K.
Umm...me too.

What is FAR more important than where we disagree is the fact that we agree that there is, in fact, a universal standard and measure given to us by God (The Bible!), and the vastness of what we agree on - especially concerning Christ - as opposed to where we disagree.
Ever know anyone who you agree with on just about everything? It's rare, right? Why expect that you are going to come together with a group of people of diverse backgrounds and you'll all agree on everything? Are you not a hypocrite? Are we not ALL hypocrites, to some degree? The reality is, in a healthy church, while there will be disagreement, the overwhelming focus is upon the vast area where we DO agree. If fact, that is one of the amazing powers of the Gospel and God's Spirit within - that He unites us in Christ. He CALLS us to fellowship. Some people in churches need your iron against their iron, and vice versa. You need them. The uniting of people of differing and complementary gifts is how the Church best functions. It functions poorly when we individually isolate ourselves. Seems like people think an earthly church must be like heaven and perfect. That's not reality. The points of disagreement are not the focus, nor should they be - as long as - we believe in Jesus, follow Him as God, believe Scripture is God-breathed/given.
Lastly, concerning church, sincerely SEEK and ye shall find - VERY likely. And don't easily give up; it might takes some time. But you won't find it if you fail to seek it! And you'll miss out on many, many blessings - received and given.

I seek church, I always have. I dont expect perfect but I cannot attend somewhere just because I should.
I find this forum more like a church, I dont need a physical building.
I pray all the time. I learn all the time. I grow.
Church, for me, is a place I can do all those things, at my pace. I do not need to prove my commitment to anyone. God knows my heart. Going to church once a week means nothing if its forced.
I will always seek God and truth. No man can stand between us. My relationship with God is solid, and personal, through Christ.

Storyteller,
Move to Florida. There's a church on every corner. You'll have plenty to choose from. Churches here are big business. Call me cynical.

Hi.
I call myself The Barrd, because I am a Christian singer/poet/story teller with Celtic roots. (Me sainted muther were Welsh, so she were, doan ye know, laddie.) I am rather well known around my own community, and a few folks have bought my books (I'm on Amazon under Deborah Barrd), but that's as far as I've gone. I'm hoping to attract a Christian publisher...
Meantime, I'm looking forward to making a few new friends

Hana is just protecting the forum, it has been known, I think, for people to join just to promote themselves, and that's not allowed.

Thats really not barrds issue though.
Why not give everyone a.warning then? She didnt deserve it.
I would rather wait and see some dishonest actions before we go giving warnings.
Really suprised

I see no warning. I see Hana noticing something, reminding us all that there are guidelines and making sure everyoone knows what the bondaries are. I saw Hana doing what her job on here involves.
Besides which, Hana later apologised.
I don't think calling Hana out on it on here is the right thing to do.
