Tomas, for all the depths of his terrible situation, is so very fortunate that Hana is the one at his side. God keep you strong, Hana! Just praying and hoping for the very best for you both.

next mri will be on may, until then we do not know what is going on
but we managed to decrease dexamethasone from 8mg to 1mg - it has very strong side effects and suppresses immune system

several days ago i was down but there was a very comforting email from one friend
Dear Hana,

The mission, the path and job that God has given you for now is hard for “outsiders” to really appreciate and understand. We got only a glimpse of what it must be like when John cared for his Dad for a few weeks. When we saw first hand what his mother-in-law was dealing with for months and months we were so thankful to God for her….it was very very hard, physically, spiritually and emotionally. May God be very near to you Hana, he knows every stress, every thought, every care you have and he loves you dearly. May He be sufficient moment by moment. He will gently lead you.

Take care friend,
God knows my every stress, every thought, every care.

I am so thankful for all the friends I have and have support from

including you, guys

from today

Dear friends,

watching Tomas now, being in bed on my iPad.

It was nice Sunday morning. Sunny day, nice breakfast with Tomas and his mother. Then I went to church. Before going to car, I make a walk through our wonderful garden. All blooming or being green already. Very nice.
I drove myself to Svaty Jur. Takes 15 minutes. The church place is at the square almost. It is a nice walk through that square. I was very soon at the church so I helped with preparing the seats. And also got to know today three man there. Nice people. My first impression.

The sermon was named Tomas' Easter.
Main points were that church needs such people as Tomas the disciple. Looking for truth and not going with the crowd but verifying things himself instead. Also was mentioned that Jesus himself came to Tomas to show himself, his wounds, him being alive. Probably Tomas was very desperate, longing Jesus to be true but needed proof. Tomas being honest.

In the course of the sermon, sermon-man mentioned how he once visited oncological patients. Having lunch with them and seeing their eyes.

He said many many things I do not recall precisely now, but it was like a sermon for me, for Tomas. (I will definitely share this sermon with my family. Was recorded and will be on CB Svaty Jur page)

After the sermon, I immediately went to the sermon-man.
"Hi, I am Hana, my husband is Tomas, unbeliever, straight, oncological patient. Having brain cancer. Most aggressive. One year survival. I am with him."
Tears started to appear on our faces so I left to toilet.
When I wanted to go home, sermon-man waited for me. We exchanges couple of more sentences. Me being with Tomas throughout whole radiotherapy. Being with him now.
Sermon-man said that the sermon was more about me than Tomas (He also spoke about suffering and that people might wonder why and all).
I said, I have support and strength from God.

I then went home, meet my Tomas (he was already asking three times if I was already back).

We had soon then lunch, then short walk in the garden. Then his father and brother arrived and had more chat. Then went to bed. I with him to watch him. In hour or two I went to kitchen for small snack, watching Tomas on camera. Then suddenly saw epileptic movements. I immediately told family he is moving weirdly, then all rushed to him, me taking benzodiazepam from the refrigerator.

Seizure was milder than last Sunday. 1 minute and not 4. Also his left side has not weakened. Maybe only little. For his brother and father it was for the first time to see the seizure. Now they learned what to do, what to watch.

We are glad nothing worse happened and we managed it.

May nothing worse happen.

Hana

But that sermon. Like for us.

Hana, it was no accident that you were in that church, on that day, for THAT sermon. What did Thomas think about it?

God bless you both!

Listening to wonderful piano by Kevin Kern. Gently exercising with Tomas' fingers on his left hand.

me: Do you feel my love? (looking at him with loving smile)
Tomas: yes (and caressing my hair)

We had wonderful time listening to wonderful music.

Am thankful for that to my Lord and my God.
Hana, that post is so simple in its beauty. And it really puts in perspective all the usual crap we typically think is a big deal. We all need to learn not to sweat the small stuff, as there are minor irritations, and then there are things to really get concerned over. But a huge amount of our daily anxiety comes from mostly insignificant junk that we make into a big deal.

Have a great weekend, Tomas and Hana!

Dear friends,

I shared with my family the sermon.
Tomas, having seen the email, wanted to hear it so we listened together, me and him.

Rest is between him and God.
