Yes, It seems I've heard somewhere that you have an ninteresting climate because of the current that brings more temperate weather there.

I remember watching one of the Britcoms (hmmm, was it Last of the Summer Wine?) as well as All things great and Small and noticing that they always seemed to be wearing wellies around... :esurprised:  and carrying raincoats.

Gosh, they're a blast from the past! I thought Last of the Summer Wine was hideous! How did you understand the accents, Zoe?! Londoners can barely understand some Northerners :) Up North (or, oop North!) the weather gets progressively worse, the South East & South West usually getting the better weather. Still grim though, but there's nothing like a grim London Town ...

lol, there is a bit of a culture of Anglophiles over here...our PBS station (a public station) will show many of the Britcoms from the 80's and 90;s (I think, judging from the fashions)

They tend to repeat over a over Last of the Summer wine (yes, it's not my fav, but it's kinda cute, very slow); Keeping up Appearances (very silly, but must confess a favorite, very slapstick); oh....and different shows over the years.

they used to show Red Dwarf a while ago, which my brother and I used to watch and laugh every sat night.

And I don't understand some of the accents!! But then again, I don't get some very heavy Southern accents easliy here. It's funny that inthe shows, there seems to be a big difference between the accents of the older actors (characters) and the younger ones, although maybe they played that up.

They show some of the Brit dramas like MI5 (do I have that right? I 'm not a huge mystery fan)

Now, of course, we have BBCAmerica, but I don't get it yet, my dad does....I can watch new (for us they are new) Doctor Who's.

One of the most racy ones they showed was Coupling, which certainly had some racy bits, but boy it was funny in parts!! (I don't know what it is about British shows, they can do racy plots and still just seem cute instead of raunchy sometimes...We actually tried to do a similar show over here but it was yanked off the air). Even the British "office" is funnier to me and I don't like the American Office.

Oh, lol, I noticed that the BBC America is now going to show "Star trek: The next gneeration"....an American show....wait, that doesn't make sense!! If I wanted to watch american science fiction shows I can watch USA and SiFi!!

Have you ever watched Only Fools and Horses, Zoe? Kepin up Appearances was funny! Red Dwarf I just did not 'get'. Although I didn't give it a real chance: saw it once, cringed and didn't watch it again; perhaps a little hasty... MI5? Hmm, rings a bell... Pehaps from the late mid-late 80s?

Haha, yes the BBC doesn't produce the kind of TV it once did; I wouldn't be surprised if it ran out of decent programmes! Haha, that's the BBC for ya!

NO haven't seen that, although somehow it sounds fmailiar.

I wish Blackadder was on again, I only saw a few episodes on PBS before they stopped showing it.
