We pray to learn who God is and what he is like... Get to know him, that he is not as the atheist think, nor like what other religions think...

You also discover things about yourself through prayer that otherwise would remain hidden and keep ruining one's life. By prayer, what ruins is exposed and healing comes in a manner supernatural that human words cannot express.

Think of prayer as talking, chatting with God as one does a close friend. Where a person can pour your out your heart, seek aid, comfort, advice, and answers from... By prayer you develop how the hear him speak to you thru the bible, thru circumstances, through still quiet voice, by the very presence of God, by gut feeling of discernment, etc and etc...

It is important to pray...

Hebrews 12:2-3 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

2nd Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of this glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,should shine unto them.

What did you get to know about Him through prayer?

If it is not too intimate, what did you uncover about yourself which was done exclusively through prayer?
