I don't know much about economics, but I have a question about consumer behavior. Will Target be able to get back this business? Or will people eventually just forget about the bathroom policy?

I can't speak to the economics, but there is a phenomena called graduated exposure that I expect would go to your point. It's a way therapists help people overcome certain phobias. Now, make no mistake, a large part of the argument here is emotional and rooted in fear. I don't say that as a criticism. Fear is a good thing when we are afraid of the right things. And the terrible part is that we can cease to be afraid of something we really ought to fear! But that issue aside, it seems to me that, over time, the fear associated with predators, peeping-toms, and other type things will go away. It will feel less weird and less creepy over time. The "ick factor" will reduce. And at that point, will people have the emotional energy to sustain the boycott? Frankly, I doubt it. So I suspect that Target will "win" this war eventually. Their sales will rebound as people eventually go back to Target for the reasons they went in the first place (whatever that may be).

I was watching a relatively new segment on TLC regarding children transgenders. Grade school age kids --an 8 yr old boy decided he didn't like being a boy so his parents let him grow his hair out and went clothes shopping with him to help him feel more like a girl getting girl's clothes. He Was a cute little kid with longer curly hair. And his parents were intelligent looking young couple. But what bothered me Most --was that the adults in his life were catering to their child's desires Rather than helping him accept himself for the Boy that he was born as. They took him to a beauty salon so he could get his longer curly hair frosted like he wanted to. All this was being televised for the program. It was being narrated by a woman who sounded so professional who made it sound so OKAY.
This boys' mother was going on Internet finding out about the shots that he could take and what all that would mean -- like it was perfectly okay for him to do that changing. They were both smiling about it.
So My comment would be to Stop the Insanity of catering to grade school aged kids who decide they want to do this or that just because 'they' want to. I suppose that if that same child decided he wanted to use the family cat's litter box to go potty in, they'd let him Because, after all, he Doesn't Want to potty train like other kids and he sees / watches the cat use it.

I was going to say something this morning, but I'm a little under-informed about the possible effects of it on children. I mean, I don't see the need for social science experiments on children, I think that's immoral. Or any such political targeting, because kids should not be used like props.

From the comments coming in -- just shows the insanity there Is on the subject. When there are no absolutes -- anything can be up by the individual and 'chaos' can be the result.

It's "Lord of the Flies" mentality. You know, the story of the boys who get stranded on an island without any adults and they do whatever they feel like doing; whatever pleases them to be happy, including murdering one another.

The theme of the book 'Lord of the Flies' by William Golding, is that when authority is absent, chaos reigns. I fully expect polygamy, polyandry, polyamory and bestiality to be accepted as the norm within the next decade or so. Those who don't accept it will be railroaded as bigots. Remember, Jesus said right before His return, society would be like it was in the days of Noah. How bad was it in the days of Noah?

Genesis 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

So society still has a way to go before it reaches the moral low ground of Noah's time. But it's getting there in a hurry.

The interesting thing about the 'Lord of the Flies' is that the boys changed their tune entirely when the adults finally show up at the end of the book. I expect the same thing to happen to the human race when Christ returns:

Luke 22:30 Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.

Revelation 6:16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

There are a whole lot of people, that instead of meeting Christ in love, they are going to meet Him in wrath. I would not wish what's going to happen to them to my worst enemy. But they chose it.

We need to pray for those people so that they may change their ways and avoid the one way ticket to destruction they are begging for.
