Okay, my birthday.
The plan was my daughter and I would go ten pin bowling, which we did, and had a great time. Hubbs went out for a few pints, we kept in touch, all good.
Then we would get a chinese takeaway..

Daughter and I arrive home tea time, keep in touch withhubbs, he comes home falling over drunk, I guide him to the sofa, daughter is resigned to dad being drunk, dad shouts what the f did you do that for, things settle, I ask what he wants from chinese, he gets angry saying who decided on chinese, daughter and I decide to light the candles on my cake (we made earlier) he makes abig deal about being there, as in whats the point. Daughter flees to bed. He tells me he doesnt wanna talk to me. I tell him hes been an ass.
Ten minutes later he asks if im ok like nothing happened.

Know what im gonna do?

Change myself first, then, if I need to, move on. I think God is showing me something significant, today, on my birthday.

And, I had a great day :)

But kinda sad too.

I cant save him, he has to.

Yes, Annette, Happy Birthday! It is good that you can see the REAL problems with your husband. It's not you, it's what he doesn't have - peace that only God can bring. Perhaps, the more he sees that YOU are growing evermore secure and content, despite the ongoing storms, it will bewilder him to realize that there just might be something to this Jesus fellow. He has GOT to see the changes within you - heck, we're just international Christian forum pals, and WE can see it so clearly, so much so that you've inspired us all! You are learning that peace in a Christian's life is NOT based upon immediate circumstances, but on WHO IS WITHIN US, Who we worship, Who guides us. No, we don't look happy sappy all the time - often just the opposite. But we have an anchoring peace that we know we can always turn to and depend upon the Lord, in trust and obedience, and gratefulness. Even when we just aren't FEELING it/Him, we still KNOW it/know HIM!

All of us here will, I'm sure, meet up in the next world - won't that be something? Happy Birthday!

It's pretty startling really, how deep this got so quick, how I feel I mean, about my faith, about Christ, God, my Lord, my Saviour, my Father, my guide.

Astonished how quickly He offered that peace, or rather how little I seemed to have to let Him in. Now, I just want more and more.

Christ truly is my anchor, I have always yearned for that, a solid, true, safe anchor. Now, I have it. Sleep in a raging storm? Why not?

I yearned for my soul to be free, wanted to fly, to soar, sing and dance and love. Now, I really am free, the more I give of myself to Christ, the more I ask Him in, and follow Him, the freer I am.

Praise God, indeed.

NB. My daughter told me today that I am always humming, or singing, normally Lord of the Dance. It's not something I was aware of, but she's right. :amen:

I had to google it:
I danced in the morning when the world was young
I danced in the moon, and the stars, and the sun
I came down from Heaven and I danced on the Earth
At Bethlehem I had my birth

Dance, then, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance said he
And I lead you all wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance said he

I danced for the scribes and the pharisees
They wouldn't dance, they wouldn't follow me
I danced for the fishermen James and John
They came with me so the dance went on

Dance, then, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance said he
And I lead you all wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance said he

I danced on the Sabbath and I cured the lame
The holy people said it was a shame
They ripped me and they stripped me and they hung me high
Left me there on the cross to die

Dance, then, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance said he
And I lead you all wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance said he

I danced on a Friday when the world turned black
It's hard to dance with the devil on your back
They buried my body; they thought I was gone
But I am the dance, and the dance goes on

Dance, then, wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance said he
And I lead you all wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance said he

I remember singing that a long time ago at my mum's uniting-type church - it seemed like quite a contemporary song there and then ;)

My childhood favourite song :)

I was going to ramble on about stuff but I don't know where to start. Been drawing even closer to Christ, getting answers, comfort, hope.

Still processing it all, I guess. It's a great feeling, peace :)

Daughter got her SAT's results.

A pass is 100, top mark 120.

Reading 119
Grammar, puncuation and spelling 117
Maths (her weakest subject) 109.

Proud doesnt cover it :)

Her teacher told her she wants to bump into her in years to come and hear that she has changed the world.

I am so, so blessed.

I'm fit to burst, honestly. Its an honour to be her mum. So exciting seeing her grow.
And, I learn from her too.

How do I even begin to thank God for her?
