I hope you feel better soon (((((Audie))))))

When you feel up to it I`d like to discuss this some more with you, I`m interested in what you think and why.

So you accept the possibility of God but think if He exists it isn`t as the God in the Bible, why not?
In shortest form because I dont find the story believable.
I know many people that don't find evolution believable....
Some people don't believe that man walked on the moon...
Heck, some people don't believe that a virgin can give birth !
Kind of missed the point there.

The first two are idiot fringe, the last plainly can happen, tho why Christians felt that needed
to be tacked onto the Jesus story isnt clear to me.

I dont see it as idiot fringe to think the stuff about, say,
Sodom and Gomorrah and the pillar of salt is not believable.

Parts of the bible are reasonable enough.

This here speaks volumes:
I dont think he was
anything like what the self- appointed "apostle" Paul concocted as having been
I think I understand where you are getting your badly informed view on the bible, Christianity and Christ.

First explain to me why you would call Paul "self-appointed "apostle" ".

I first got suspicious of him hijacking the Jesus thing, with his transparently phony snake story.
If you're of an analytical sort, see if you can figure how to disassemble that story in court.

Well, IIRC it was Luke who wrote the story as he was with Paul when it happened. More amazing things have happened than being bit by a snake and not being harmed.

The no-harm from snakebite may be the easiest detail to accept as credible.

If Saul accepted and endorsed the story, he is an accessory after the fact.

And yes. most remarkable things have happened. But does this pass any smell test, have you thought it thru?
Seems odd protection would be demonstrated in such a goofy implausible way that has so many details wrong, any one
of which would strain the credulity of a charioteer :D, if they stopped to consider.

Jesus didnt claim to be bulletproof, and here goes Saul saying he was.

Cant you see what he did?

Pooey on Luke, too. I like Jesus, not those phonies and parasites.

So you write off an individual that was accepted by Jesus's closest disciples and friends because of a story that He didn't even write about an event that COULD have been possible but YOU think it wasn't?

How can you test it? Is that your whole point? Better throw out most of established history then since we can't test a lot of it.
I accept it as reliable because I accept Luke as reliable. He was a very reliable historian and follower of Christ, in my opinion.

Well to me that's one of the things that makes it more believable. The fact that it's so weird. Paul never claimed to be bullet proof either. I mean, the guy got his head cut off. What details do you mean are wrong? What details needed to be there for you to accept it? It sounds like you reject anything written by Luke or Paul for...reasons I'm not sure of yet.
Audie wrote:I like Jesus, not those phonies and parasites.
He likes you too. There is hope yet, my friend.

You seem to have a knowledge of Paul that I do not because you speak in a very authoritative manner about him. Where did you find it out?
Storyteller wrote:Where will I find the snake story?
Acts 28

Re paulsacramento

Dont forget Jesus himself showed up to accept him, so he said.

Did Jesus' own brother accept him? I dont think so.
Who did, and how do you know?

As noted, if paul accepted the story, he is responsible for it, so he is on that hook
regardless.

Who his friends were or werent has no evidentiry value, its irrelevant
to the facts of the story. Are you writing off the rather obvious problems
with the story because of who his friends were?

"Could have been possible" is an amusingly unintentional concession that the story is past the outer fringe
of credible.

Now, not making this about me or you but the facts of the case as presented,
do or do you not see any problems with it, and if so, what?
