Yea we are, but scientists estimate we started from a population of about 15,000. Starting off with just two individuals would have disastrous effects on any animal species, and we probably wouldn't be seeing all the diversity that there is in mankind. Those verses in Ecclesiastes do say that. The meaning is that like animals we are made from the dust and when we die, we will return to the dust. Man and animals were also given life by God.
