Indeed. Who cares? Politics is only about image now. If you want substance, vote Bernie.
Bernie ain't good looking, though...

Bernie isn't a socialist. He's a social democrat. I will be generous and assume you're just pretending to be a dumb American...
Anyway, Sarah is way better looking than any of the Democrat
hags ladies.
Vote for beautiful people...forget policies...you'll get screwed whether Thump or The Klingons become President. Might as well be screwed by lookers...

I call Bernie a socialist, because he calls himself a socialist. And as far as I know, he's not a liar like Clinton.
Bernie Sanders-Socialist or Democratic Socialist?

I agree, politics is all about the 'image'.
It's quite strange and telling of the times that the likes of Trump are running for president. A man known for his bad comb over, celebrity and billionaire status.
He has no background in politics but is heading the Republican polls. He has a history of financially backing democratic candidates.
The issue is that other candidates are focusing on policies, whilst Trump is doing what he does best, being controversial, a loud mouth, getting media attention, making use of the fact that he isn't a 'politician' so he says what he thinks duping people into thinking that it is a refreshing change, a man not afraid to tell it like it is, but he is a clever man who knows how to create attention.
And the public is doing what they do best, we live in a society that laps up fame, fortune, big names, big stories, and big idiots with big mouths with big profiles and big bank balances.
The little guy may have some real susbstance to his character, policies and vision but if you can't either enthrall the masses or repulse them then you just aren't creating enough media spin to give a real leg up.

I know Bernie calls himself a socialist. But - as Eddy and Philip have often pointed out - Americans are not too bright when it comes to politics and society. Bernie is a socialist in the same manner that Denmark, Sweden and Norway are socialist, three states with a higher standard of living than the U.S. So, socialist doesn't mean that everyone is equal and drives a grey Trabant and works for the government and lives in a society where wages and prices are fixed. Unfortunately, a lot of gringos have this incorrect view of socialism. To wit, scroll up and read crotchety1949's understanding of socialism.
Anyway, I support Thump for Republican nominee.

Canada isn't a socialist country but a lot of gringos think it is. I can't remember the exact number but I saw a report that claimed that some 30% of Americans think Canada is run by a dictator!
You're right, I can't vote for Thump. Maybe I'll sell my Trabant and send the Thump campaign the proceeds...

My 2 cents worth. Glad I'm Not Democrat -- as for the Republicans -- my husband is a strong Trump person. I'm a Cruz person. I'll only vote for Trump if he actually Does get the nomination. But, please, Don't let him get it.

I like Trump because he's actually been the most honest of all of the front runners. We Trump supporters do not want a politician,we are tired of the lies from politicians in both parties. You know what you've got with Trump and he cannot be any worse than any politician has.Trump is nice unless somebody attacks him then he stands up for himself. Most people let the bully who started it get the pass and only focus on when Trump fights back, but Trump has never started it,yet he's somehow seen as the angry one and bully,no it is the ones who have attacked him first that are angry and are the bullies. Every election politicians get religious but nothing changes but with Trump he's real and not just putting on an act for political gain.Trump is running because he truly cares for America and he's not a politician,he's a successful business man and is tired of seeing America lose on every deal politicians make that benefit other countries instead of America.

The issue with Trump is, and we seem to forget this, that he is not a moral person ( not that any politician is it seems).
An example:
http://www.weeklystandard.com/nine-tale ... le/2000697
Trump says what NEEDS to be said BUT the man is the wrong person to fix these problems.

I disagree because Trump has been honest about what they bring up,he's not hiding things like politicians do and are doing right now. I also know that the folks at Weekly Standard are RINO'S who have been against Trump since he first ran and still are. I do believe Trump is the man that can fix the problems he brings up and I believe he truly wants to. Trump is not new and Trump has openly and honestly talked about how he's played the lobbying game before, giving money to both parties and candidates in both parties too and it is honesty. Trump is not putting on an act, denying these things and that is the big difference. Trump knows how the lobbying game is played and how it effects politicians who are beholden to their lobbyists and only he can effect it. It is the other candidates that you should be focusing on that are not being honest.

I would vote for Cruz too if he gets the nominee, however he is not as Presidential as Trump is and Trump would beat Hillary or Sanders much easier than they could. Trump has a chance to win states Republicans normally lose too.

I'm not sure what it is about Cruz, but I've hated that guy from the second I laid eyes on him. Apparently everyone who's ever met him feels the same way, so maybe I just have good instincts. It's odd - I thought Canadians were supposed to be nice. Anyway, I think he'd be a catastrophe as our president.
I have no idea how you could possibly think that The Donald is in any way presidential. The guy is a buffoon. He's not saying what needs to be said, he's blowing his hateful, racist, fear-mongering dog whistle to get headlines. And plans for America? When has he ever had a plan? He just says "I'm smarter and better than those Washington phonies, so I'll make America great again by being myself." Seriously? He'll defeat ISIS by taking their oil? What does that even mean? He'll build a giant wall between the US and Mexico and make the Mexicans pay for it? What kind of deluded fantasy is that? And to top it all off, I don't think he even wants the job, or ever thought he had a chance of getting it. His candidacy is an exercise in self-aggrandizement that inadvertently tapped into a vein of anti-establishment, paranoid, xenophobic rage. He's the Jed Clampett of presidential politics.
Alas, I don't have much interest in Hillary and I'm not sure that Bernie is electable. And if either of them did get into the White House the Republicans would respond with another of their 4-year obstructionist hissy-fits. Even if they lose the Senate all it takes is a core group of intractable radicals in the House to shut down the government until they get another crack at the presidency.
I guess I'll vote Democratic in hopes that maybe they'll put a couple more liberals in the Supreme Court and hold the religious right back for a little while longer. I wish I could convince my wife to move to Canada. It's not even that far from here.

Every question you ask Trump has explained. He's given far more substance on his plans than any of the other front-runners have especially Hillary and Bernie. I mean I realize you may not like Trump but to ask the questions you asked when he's already explained, shows that you have not really listened to him and are going on what the media says he said, which they take alot of things he says out of context.Trump has very good ides for America and the only people who think Trump is racist or xenophobic are illegal immigrants or islamic terrorists. How can you ignore that almost every day there is another islamic terrororist attack somewhere in the west? They just recently caught an Islamic terrorist in Texas who was planning suicide bombings in malls and shopping centers in the US and we know there are many more in the US right now,yet if you listen to liberals or Hillary or Bernie? You'd never know.
We are already going to have who knows how many more Islamic terrporist attacks in the US for the next President to have to deal with and yet people are naive about it and claiming Trump is playing on our fears,it is not fear,it is courage to acknowledge the problem and the will to do something about it and only Trump sees the problem and is talking about it. Of course though if you listen to Cruz he's trying to out Trump Trump when it comes to fighting islamic terrorism and building a wall, when he would'nt even be talking about it if it was'nt for Trump.
