Interesting update on our church's youth pastor with Covid: Well, the big concern was that the youth pastor who tested positive had been around virtually the entire staff much of the previous week. So, every staffer was tested - but no other person tested positive. And the interesting thing is, that pastor had been very careful to wear a mask at all times - which may well have been why the rest of the staff didn't catch it. So, we're going to re-start services this Sunday, but masks are HIGHLY recommended. They were encouraged before - and I'm not even sure if legally they can be mandated.

Is the youth pastor feeling ok? Any symptoms?

Great news...
This is an excellent example of why we should be listening to the experts and mask up and social distance.
It works!

There are a number of states who have mandated wearing masks in public places. And a number of nation wide businesses also require masks in their stores.
Some governors are resisting mask mandates. Over the next few weeks it should become obvious which states have better success against covid.
Those with mask mandates or those without.

Rick: Is the youth pastor feeling ok? Any symptoms?
Haven't heard yet - but he's only about 30 - which could make a big difference.

I live about 4 miles outside of a small town and about 25 minutes north of the capital city. And our town just mandated a mask policy for retailers, all kinds of stores, with modest fines. Yeah, it's a hassle, but I've been wearing one anyway. Getting fever is always bad news for me - and add in a serious virus - ain't worth not taking precautions. They have not mandated wearing them for outside or churches. Heck, we don't even have a town cop - rely on the county sheriff's dept. - so I don't know how they'll enforce it.

And while wearing masks ARE an important and sensible tool against spreading Covid, there IS a balance. And that balance is skewed with the lockdown approach / mentality that many politicians seem to believe.

So, our approach has to be cautious while not wrecking the economy - which has it's own terrible consequences!

By now we have enough data to compare the real life results of the CDC recommended path to opening things up to Trump's approach to opening things up.

Look, I’m not the biggest trump supporter, but I’m just getting a little tired of everything being Trump’s fault. It’s past the point of being ridiculous now.

Not everything is Trump's fault, but some of the things that are are doozies.

Case in point, when he found himself tasked with leading us through a pandemic - which was not his fault - he told lies, played golf, and undercut his experts for political reasons. Now Europe is getting back to normal and we're [love]. That's 100% Trump's fault. Even if that's the only thing he'd done wrong in the last 3 1/2 years it would be more than enough. But there were other things. Lots and lots of other things. And several of them were equally disqualifying.

I don't get how you can still support the man. And please don't start up about socialism or leftist radicals, or any of that [nonsense]. Joe Biden is as moderate as they get. He's not pushing for universal healthcare, he opposes defunding the police, and he's not looking to bring about fundamental changes of any sort. I'd much rather have a progressive, but at this point I'd do cartwheels for a functioning adult that's not partnered with a hostile foreign government, shagging a porn star, and using the office to punish his enemies and pimp his resorts.

If by “support”, you mean “vote”, I already explained that to you. Until there’s a candidate that I consider “perfect”, I vote for the lesser of two evils.

So, then I guess you won’t be voting for Biden?

So we're comparing?

Rick, there's zero evidence that Hunter Biden did anything illegal, and in case you missed it, Hunter is not Joe. Meantime, we've got Trump colluding with Russia during the 2016 election using Roger Stone as an intermediary, then commuting Stone's sentence after he was convicted of lying to the FBI. We've got the phone call for which he was impeached (#readthetranscript). We've got John Bolton reporting that he tried to get China to help him in the 2020 election. And most recently it's come out that he tried to use the US Ambassador to the UK to lobby for the British Open to be held at Trump Turnberry. And now you'll say that Trump is the lesser of two evils...?

A couple of times women have said that Biden made them uncomfortable, and he's apologized. One crazy woman accused him of sexual assault, but her accusation fell apart under scrutiny. Trump, meantime, has bragged that he grabs 'em "by the pussy" and 2 dozen women have come forward to confirm his statement. He's paid off a Playboy model and a porn star to hide his affairs. He's had 3 wives and cheated on them all. He's bragged about walking into the changing rooms during his teen pageants, which several contestants have confirmed. A woman also accused him of raping her when she was 13 - at Jeffrey Epstein's place - and Trump seems to have been really chummy with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell for a really long time. Last week he made comments about Maxwell that sure do look like he was floating a pardon or commutation if she keeps her mouth shut. And he's been incredibly creepy with Ivanka since she was a kid.

That just leaves using the office to punish enemies and pimp resorts. Biden doesn't seem to have enemies and he definitely doesn't have resorts, so that's nonsensical.

So there you go - when it comes to working with foreign powers to subvert democracy, treating girls and women like sex objects, and using the power of the presidency in a corrupt and self-serving manner Trump wins in a landslide.

As far as I can tell, your whole "lesser of two evils" thing rests on ignoring/downplaying/denying a ton of evil on Trump's part and buying into inaccurate depictions of Biden's positions and policy proposals. I guess I could be wrong, but neither of you guys has managed to give me specific examples of Biden's supposed far left activism and sinister socialist leanings. Here's Sleepy Joe's platform. Please, show me which of his policy goals are so terrifyingly evil that they make Trump the lesser of two evils.
