But Jesus was sinless, because He is God.
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." (Psalm 19:1)

Is it possible He knows sin through Mary? If only original sin? not imo, he took the possibility of original sin from her and endowed her with such a wonderful, so full of grace gift that sinning wasn't even considered.story:
Is it possible to hate something you do not know?
God hates sin.
Is it possible He knows sin through Mary? If only original sin?
How can God know sin, how we feel if He doesnt somehow, experience it?
Yes. That's why Mary's sinlessness is not necessary.Storyteller wrote:But Jesus was sinless, because He is God.
Why was she sinless, if it wasn't necessary?Storyteller wrote:Agreed.
Not that I'm saying Mary wasnt sinless. Im still working that one through.
before Christ was human He had to know of sin, why did the Father send him in the first place if not for the express condemnation of sin ? why would He have sent the Christ if He wasn't alrteady aware of sin and it's consequences ? He didn't need to experience anything in His human state. His God the Father person already knew, He is aware of everything. The OT testifies to such great wisdom and knowledge... even acknowledging preknowledgestory:
But He did experience everything. As a human. Why would He leave out sin?

Mary's sinlessness is not in conjunction with God's. Mary's sinlessness was allowing God to remain who He is and not immerse Himself in sin ... the one thing in all the universe God hates most. Mary's sinlessness was was created for her because of her love of our Father as the "bearer" of Him who is with us, and present Him with a pure "ark" for his earthly conception.rickD
Yes. That's why Mary's sinlessness is not necessary.

Bingo! That's what I was trying to say but was unable to make clear.RickD wrote:Mary being sinless is neither necessary nor biblical.
If God could keep Mary sinless, as Catholicism teaches, why couldn't God keep Jesus sinless in Mary's womb?
Yet a man had to go sprinkle blood on the Ark once a year, and we're told in Hebrews that Christ was represented by the High Priest. So the analogy falls flat, unless you're making a case for incest.EssentialSacrifice wrote:Storyteller wrote:
