My family was in HK when the Japanese invaded.
In college, I had a classmate from Japan, and I decided to force myself to try to make friends.
She turned out to be the most wonderful person..Im so glad I did that.

It looks pretty good, actually, which is why so many people try to get into it, to live there full- or part-time, to work there, or to visit it as tourists. Sometimes for whatever reasons people just don't want to see the writing on the wall. It is nicer and easier to stay in the comfort zone and tune out the finer details.

Sorry but I am not badmouthing America because it popular to do so. I think many westerners feel proud to defend the honor of America, such as yourself but I don't blame you. You have to be in my shoes to feel what I feel and vice versa. To you America has been good, for me the case is different. If time comes when Slovak men would have to go to army and kill poeople (see Ukraine situation) I hope they will massively refuse to fight. Many rather would go to prison than go fighting and killing (and what for?).
