That the Bible teaches the world is flat, that the planets and sun rotate around the earth and the earth is fixed, that the earth is at the center of the universe, that there has always been war between science and Christianity, that the Catholic church persecuted scientists who didn't hold their view, for that reason (when it was in fact what some of those scientists did, like espouse pantheism, or insult the pope).

Here's a few more, on both sides.

You've got to be baptized in water to go to heaven

Christians despise Jehovas Witnesses, Mormons, Christian Scientists, and other forms of abherant christianity.

It's ok to sin because all will be forgivem.

Christianity is important to our society because it serves as a moral compass, without which our society will fall into anarchy.

Christianity, like all the other faiths in the world are basically alike.

Except for possibly the moral compass (because God also gave man a conscious and sense of right and wrong, apart from the laws written down)...how do these things pop up?

Predjudice. Blind predjudice. When one is not objective because one refuses all options except that which one desires to believe, then you get fallacies about other people's beliefs being propogated with the passion of a zealous nut.

Thank you; I know.

it has to be blind. This one rabid atheist told me that it was a contradiction when the disciples and Luke wrote down different sayings Jesus said on the cross, and that Jesus says the civil law is to turn your cheek, while the government can wage war (for the right reasons) They are so flimsy, a gust of wind knocks them down

I refer to my mention of "zealous nut"s in my above post. Is that what this is all about? And if so, (to get back on topic too! ) what myths am I propogating?
