The Hebrew word transliterated 'belial' simply means 'worthless'. It never appears in the Bible as a proper name.
It is used in the phrase 'sons of belial', which means 'worthless people'. This usage is found up to the 1st century, including the Qumran literature. In the intertestamental literature of apostate Jews, it is used to refer to an evil spirit, which is a false doctrine invented during that time.

These are a collection of Jewish writings from different eras. Most of them are apocryphal writings (uninspired), some of them contain the various beliefs of certain Jewish subgroups, and a number of them contain Scripture, either in the form of entire scrolls or fragments.
They can be useful from a historical perspective, from a text critical perspective, and from a linguistic perspective, but aside from those texts which are pure Scripture, they are useless in forming an understanding of the true faith.

The key phrase here is 'nothing in the bible about it'.
