Don't mean to put a damper on this and all, and call me stupid, but you had to expect one of us would be stupid enough to say what you already know I'm going to say, but I don't get it! Would someone be so kind as to enlighten my poor self?

There was a video game (or was it a cartoon?) about intergalactic domination which was obviously translated from an oriental language (very, very poorly.) In the intro is one leader about to attack and defeat another, and he exclaims to his enemy "All your base are belong to us!!!" It goes on with further poor language for the whole intro... Kinda became a classic among certain people.

I see; thank you, Felgar. I can imagine for those who would know it would be funny. Very true, however.

That clip from the game was funny. I first laughed after that one guy laughed, which was funny in and of itself. The rest of that Flash animation thing was a combo of amusement and "what in the world is wrong with these people" kind of reactions. Thanks for providing those links.

Theres a flash site on Newgrounds that has all sorts of AYB flashes on it, and they have a paragraph for the discription,
'In 1989, a game called Zero Wing came out for the Sega Genesis by Toaplan. It was an unremarkable game; the only feature that distinguished it from any other side-scrolling shooter was the barbaric way that it treated the English language. Fast forward to the year 2000, after just over a decade in obscurity (living next door to the New Kids on the Block and that guy who starred in Herman's Head) a parody by David Lloyd at Overclocked.org brought this game's bad grammar back into the pop culture spotlight. Chat rooms and message boards blazed with phrases like “Somebody set up us the bomb”, and “You are on the way to destruction”. '
all the flash parodies are here --> http://www.newgrounds.com/collection/allyourbase.html
